One of my AF collection grails is to own an page of original AF Byrne art. They are pretty rare to find, and I was bidding on this one that just ended on eBay. The last time I saw a page sell a couple years ago was for about $400.00. This one from issue 12, Page 13 went for $2.025! Goes to show how much collectors still appreciate the original AF comics.

Well Northstar being on the X-Men, and the fact that it's Byrne, probably have a lot more to do with it than it being Alpha Flight.

I wish I could afford one. That'd be awesome!

That's clearly a typo, but I'm not sure what you really meant?

Wow that's some serious money and just for a one page.

Yowza! I thought you were gonna say, like, $225 or something!

No, that's typical for Byrne art. You can get artists with "some" recognition for 200. But people like Byrne? Jim Lee? That's money.

That's depressing. I once saw two pages of Uncanny #120 for sale for a little over $100 each. Australian.

I now regret even more that I didn't buy them.

I'd kill someone for Uncanny X-Men #121 art.
:D

(In case NSA is scanning this forum, I don't mean that literally...) :D

(No, he really means Uncanny #120.)

Several things factor into that huge price (and that's pretty darn high for an AF page, but not surprising). The issue is as key as it gets for JB's run. If you're looking for a page, you're probably going to start with #12. Northstar is popular, as is Puck to a lesser degree. Number of panels, and the fewer the better. The characters being in costume and using their powers are both prime reasons. All things being equal, if a page with these exact details, but from the battle, were sold, it'd go for even more.
