Squirrel Girl (2015) #1.
Uh... the second #1 of Squirrel Girl of 2015. *sigh*.
The villain of the issue was Brain Drain, and he mentioned being frozen in the Canadian tundra.
I suspect it's a reference to his appearance in Alpha Flight. I've written them a letter, but #2 isn't out yet, so no response. :-|

If I could get past the funky art, I'd pick it up... But I understand the cartoony art is meant to go hand in hand with the cartoony character and story telling... it's just comics these days cost so much... that picking up any issue is a serious consideration...

That's...
That's actually a fair assessment. If you can't get past the one, you won't get past the other.

Thanks!
So do you get to see Brain Drain? I suspect it's probably him - because the writers probably have a laundry list of "silly" villains to use in their books.

Brain Drain appears through the whole issue.

Ah! Okay. I was confused (easily done, so don't worry!) I thought they were eluding he was the villain - but he hadn't been shown yet - and THAT'S why you wrote a letter to see if it would be the Alpha Flight villain.
All clear now!

when does SG #2 come out? I am going to get it just to see if they answered your question.

Dunno... Fairly soon, but given lead time on print runs, etc, I wouldn't expect them to print my letter until at least #3.

I have it now, and as expected my letter isn't in it.

For those interested, it was printed in #4. (My letter reads to me like a child wrote it. Sigh.)
Yep, the 'Canadian Tundra' part was a reference to his AF appearance.
He's back in #12: http://wethenerdy.com/exclusive-preview-unbeatable-squirrel-girl-12/
Hopefully AF will appear too.

Hopefully AF will appear too.
Or at least get referenced. :)
