Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight. Closely tied to Wolverine, the group first appeared in the pages of 1979's Uncanny X-Men #120, and they're essentially Canada's Avengers.
Now, a new rumor claims that the studio has plans to introduce the team in a future project.

I'm still taking it with a pinch of salt.
We had the same rumours in 2015, 2017 & 2019...

Well, that first article you linked to did say to use a pinch of salt. :)

I'm not surprised there are rumours; and I wouldn't be surprised if the movie happened, and I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

That's really cool! I knew he'd heard of AF from an introduction to a Firefly comic.

Technically, he's already played Simon Williams in the MCU, but 1: that was only on movie posters and 2: I'm pretty sure those scenes were cut anyway.
(Guardians of the Galaxy 2, btw. Which makes that the only James Gunn movie he isn't in, I believe.)

Have James Gunn direct it and he would be a shoe-in for the role
