They are very cool, an other great collection (that looks to include some on the site you posted) is http://jerome.galica.free.fr/marvel/X-Men/alpha%20flight/alphaflight.htm

Some of those cheekbones are sharp enough to cut yourself on!

They're all crazy-like, I love them :D

These have become quite the popular passtime for some folks, there are sites out there filled just with the "nude" templates, that you can basically paint as you would, or alter as you would to make your favorite hero. It looks like fun, I'd play around with it, if I didn't already have enough AF stuff on my plate :) However, if anyone wantes to try their hand at it, it might be fun!

I found a good site full of templates for those interested :)

Ok, so I couldn't resist trying my hand at one of these little guys! I think there may be a few folks swooning over this one ;)

LOL - very cool! Now if we could just animate him to strip and pour maple syrup over his chest then I think a certain member here would be even happier

EEEKKK - just clicked on the male template page and was confronted with a page full of little naked men NONE of whom had any genitals - now THAT'S scary!!!!

Ben

VERY cool! Maybe you should submit them to the site and he can add them to the Marvel A-Z that he has? (Just looking at them now - less complicated than actually making them myself I think!).

Ben
04-12-2004, 11:17 AM
I would submit them, but it says on the site that it's heroes as of 1987 in the Marvel U.... I'll just toss them up in the galleries of AF.net eventually.

They really aren't hard, and quite fun to see them come together!

What programs are you using to customize these things. I'd show ya what I did to them in MS Paint but I'll save your eyes the strain. :)

Ben

I'm using Paint Shop Pro. You can download a trial version at http://www.jasc.com

I'm sure you could do it with mspaint, but having the ability to have multiple layers makes it WAY easier.

Here's my latest...I guess since I'm this far in, I might as well do all of the new Alpha flight :)

Ummm, unfortunately I don't believe there is a template for that particular action... not that I've looked or anything... :?

Ben, they're looking great so far - love Nemesis's pose btw.

This one was tricky at first to give him his slouchy look, I think I got it okay...

I just had a crazy thought...

I'd actually PAY someone with enough expertise with the Micro's to do a complete Micro remake of an AF iss. I don't care which one, but I'd love to see it...

... which I had that much expertise...

Ben

how about AF vol.1, #6 ;) heh heh

Ben

Weee, this one was tough! had to use bits and pieces of a bunch of different templates to make the body, and had to draw the legs by hand...er by mouse that is.

Something about his eyes I think... he looks kinda evil!

How does he look like Llan?

He's got a head, two arms and two legs, he also has eyes, thats always a giveway.

Oh and he has a Llan kinda face, if you used the same head on a Llan micro, you wouldn't have to do much editing.

Those little characters do look cool. Can you do a Snowbird?

Ben
04-14-2004, 10:12 PM
Hi Richv1, welcome!

I can indeed do a Snowbird, and will eventually I'm sure. My big task now is to do Sasquatch, he's making my head hurt. After that I'll do some more of the core members

Hey I could try saving your pictures and using them as my avatar I wonder if that would work?

... as long as the file's small enough, I don't see why not (I keep getting told my avs are too large whenever I change them... hence why I use this one)

Richv1

Its to bad they are to big to use as avatars on here.

Actually, if you go to the Avatar loading page, where ben has so nicely added several pre-concieved avatars, Ben has actually been nice enough to include a few Micro avatars for your enjoyment! (Just saw them when I was browsing)

Ben

I have the Avatar size set to 75x75 pxls. As Allan mentioned, I did make some avatars out of these little guys. It doesn't show thier whole body, but it does the trick. Enjoy! :)

I found my own avatar the 19 year old Guardian looks pretty good. And I see I might be able to draw my own or make one from other pictures.

You can tell I changed mine to Marrina I liked her. Maybe marvel could bring her back. You do have some nice avatars here.

DelBubs
04-19-2004, 08:18 PM
I'd hazard that we are likely to see a very active Marrina, within the first six issues of Vol 3. :P

Richv1
04-19-2004, 08:34 PM
Why would you hazard that guess?

DelBubs
04-19-2004, 08:38 PM
Why would you hazard that guess?

Firstly, the solicits have mentioned 'The Plodex' and there's the tiny figure on the last page of #1. After discussion, the conclusion was that the figures represented two further recruits for Sas's flight, Snowbird and Marrina.

Ben

I totally agree, I think there's an excelent chance of seeing Marrina return. Fans have been asking for it for 20 years, and the return of the plodex is the perfel fuel to bring her back.

Getting out # 1 well I am looking at the last page. You mean the blue figure with the big eyes that could be Marrina and Snowbird with the white dress. If so they sure changed their costumes. Anyway I want them both back.

Ben

When it first came out, that was the closest thing we could figure. We kind of put the colouring asside, as there were a few other colouring errors on that same picture.

Maybe they both just have new costumes for a new Alpha Flight. New costumes might be ok as long as they are back.
