LOL I've been known to quote the Hitler line where he freaks out when Cap shows up, at work...

For some reason I get this odd idea that people often look at you strangely when you're at work...

You should see the looks I get when I start singing (badly off key) raunchy pub songs!

Mako, you're from England, yes?
I am amazed that in my extensive travels there, I ALWAYS hear a song there that I have NEVER heard home here in the US:
Madonna's version of "American Pie"

you never heard Madonna's atrocious version of American Pie?? God, here, they played it every half hour for over a year!

And Mako's actually from New Zealand, raised in Australia, and living in San Fransisco by way of Hawai'i, btw (hehe, Jo, I beat you to it!)

What he said. Kiwi/Aussie slang is similar to British slang but with a few modifications to allow for the indigenous populations.

Madonna did a version of American Pie? Hnn. I'm a metal head so I wouldn't know.

I take it she did a bad remake?

I think she butchered a classic. But then I'm a music snob.

I agree! Although don't tell the boyf as he adores her for some reason (when he runs out and buys some red thread for ths wrist for £20 and joins the Kabbalah THEN it maybe over between us!). The original version is much better and was actually in the British charts a few years back again, I bought it on CD single.

I think it's one of those songs that CAN'T be remade by ANYONE. Some classics just can't be touched.

Me, I liked the song by Madonna. It's not a classic but it's entertaining, like many thinks she does. I think it's a good beat, like Puff daddy did with everybreath you take and all those remakes, not always good but differents.
