I just can't believe these turkeys at Marvel might cancel Series 3# after such a short time so I sent my letter of indignation by e-mail...it's a little easier than snail since I am in Australia. I am pretty het up about it and wanted to share my thoughts here by way of continued protest. Who knows, perhaps they might look at a forum once in a blue moon and read it here also.

If anybody else has written a letter and cares to post it here, I'd be happy to have it along side my own!!!

Hey guys.

I was a teenager (Australian) when I began reading
Alpha Flights 1st volume back in 83 and I was
devastated when the book was cancelled. Even more
dissapointing and pointless was the cancellation of
Series 2 after only a very few issues! The greatest
members of the Marvel Universe belong to the Alpha
Flight series and Wolverine it should be remembered
was an Alphan before anything else!

Alpha Flight is the only comic book I ever collected
with passion and I'm still doing it at 32 years of
age! If you cancel this book you will be doing a
complete disservice to the spirit of adventure and
struggle, something that the characters in the Marvel
Universe are supposed to know something about, or
have these past 40 years been a complete cynical lie?

Perhaps I'm naive to believe that anything but sales
figures matter to people in the comic book business
anymore - I used to think the readers who LOVE a book
mattered too! Personally, if you cancel Alpha Flight
you'll never get another sale from me again. Thats
seriously your loss!

C'mon guys, show some gumption and get with the
program. Every time you kill Alpha Flight before it
really gets going you prove your lack of commitment
to letting this book find it's audience and thrive as
myself and others know it can/will/should! How can
you keep shooting titles down before seriously giving
them a year or more to find their way? It's seriously
flakey and it says something about whats going on at
Marvel. Has the accounting department there got every
creative passionate person at Marvel by the balls?

Viva Alpha Flight! - Greatest book that never got
respect. YOU can CHANGE THAT! Go on, surprise us.

Best regards, Simon (Syd) White.

Syd, did MARVEL take time to reply back to you?

I've lost track of how many I've sent letters, and never a reply. The closest thing to a reply I got was the same form letter from Joe Q that everyone gets when they email him directly. I don't blame the editorial staff for not replying to the letters, I'm sure they get a lot of them, I was however hoping Joe Q would actually respond to my questions about why Marvel didn't put any effort into volume 3.
