Picked up a few comics at the end of August.

Marvel
Supreme Power #12
This series just gets better and better. The way JMS has spoken about it on various sites, leads me to believe that he envisions it going on for many years. (So with that kiss of death, it'll probably be gone very soon :-) )
Doctor Spectrum #1
Very good, a lot of insight into Joe Ledger and hopefully some idea of where this character might end up in the geater scheme of things.
Alpha Flight #6
Having picked this up late I didn't really get involved in the discussions elsewhere. Still a little disjointed for me and more questions raised than answered, but it didn't make me want to go out and burn effigies of any of the creative team.
Weapon-X #26-27
Uncanny X-Men #447
Not read these yet, but, and I know this is sacrilege, but since Claremont took over, I'm actually getting quite interested in the UXM. Not sure if I'm gonna keep that interest enough to keep me on board for a long time, but not thinking about kicking it into touch at present. As for Weapon X, I hate that they are canning this, my second fave book after AF.

IDW
30 Days Of Night : Return To Barrow #5-6
Singularity 7 #1-2
Not read these either yet, but 'Return to Barrow' has been excellent all the way through, so unless Niles has had a brain fart, I'm not expecting to get out of my tree over it. As for 'Singularity 7' it will be interesting to see if Templesmith is as good a writer as he is an artist.

Vertigo
HellBlazer #198-199
Leaving this alone until #200, word is that it's gonna be a major issue.

Oni
Queen & Country #26
Cannot think of one bad issue throughout ths series and Rucka really knows how to tell a story. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes spy stories with a human grounding. No James Bond here.

WildStorm
Authority #14
In my opinion, the best issue of Morrisons run. Strange how he saves the best for last.
Authority : More Kev #3 of 4
Not read this yet, but if it's anything like the first two issues I shouldn't be dissapointed.

The ending of RTB was lost on me...

I'm LOVING Singularity 7 though. Templesmith's art works so much more when it's his own stuff, and the story's great too.

Maybe the 30 Days... books should be read as collected editions. I read the first few issues straight of the back of reading the first two TPB's so may have been unduly influenced. I'm gonna take some time out to read the lot in one sitting and see where we go from there. As for Singularity 7, I was gonna wait for the complete lot and do the same, but following your recommendation will read the first two tonight.

Cheers Phil

It's the first proper traditional sci-fi book I've read in a while.
Always refreshing.

You gonna be taking a look at Ellis's 'Ocean'(s) ? I saw a pdf of the first four pages or so, it definately has a Sci-Fi look to it. I'm not sure if I'll be picking that up, but am tempted by Stealth Tribes (:?:) it seems to have an interesting concept behind it.

The solicit didnt do much for me.

haven't seen any pages though, so may give it a whirl.

Probably not though.

I couldn't care less how crappy the solicits are. I'll read Alpha Flight no matter WHAT some idiot writes in a solicit. Because I like the team.

I think we can all agree that the solicits for AF haven't been top notch MML, but in regards to somthing like 'Oceans' which hasn't got a following, then the solicits need to catch the eye. Unfortunately, as Phil said, they didn't do anything for him so he probably won't be picking up the book. However, the pdf four page didn't look to bad, but not good enough to get me to grab it when it comes out.

Okay, double post, but there ya go. Went out today with Bubs and the grand daughter while the kids organised somthing. So of course Iwe ended up at the comic shop. Picked up
Alpha Flight #7
C.S.I Dominoes #1 of 5
Uncanny X-Men #448

While in the shop however, Paul the store fella waved a couple of Uncanny X-Men under my nose, which had me drooling like a Doberman with a leg. Now when they first came out UXM #120-121 didn't make it over here in great numbers. Something to do with there being no sea frieght with those issues. I think 5,000 came over here, so people are prepared to pay top dollar for them. Anyways, Paul has them and for me to pry them from his grasp would knock me about Ninety quid, but god am I tempted :-)

He also had Incredible Hulk #181 on there the other day, but has put it away until someone asks for it specifically. He's after 350 Quid for that one. I think I can survive without that :-)

Del, Buddy! Have you given any thought to E-Bay? You can get some much better deals than that. I took a quick look and found these possibles:

THery are good prices, unfortunately I don't dabble with credit or debit cards, which puts me at a disadvantage :-)

As long as you have a chequing bank account you can set up a paypal account that withdraws from that. It takes a few days for it to clear on the seller's end, but it works fine. That's how I do it.

I paid like £15 each for my #120-121's mate...

I remember my Brother in Law picking up #121 years ago, he paid a fiver at the counter and as he turned away a bloke immediately offered him fifeteen notes for. Paul says that in all the time he's worked in the shop, he's only had two issues of each pass through his hands. Looks like I'm gonna have to do the paypal thing if I wanna get my mitts on em.

OH BTW , Paul says he might be able to nip up to the smoke for a quick half with us on the 23rd if your up for that. He promises no repetition of Bristol :-)

Went and did that comic picking up thing again.

Fantastic Four #369 Infinity War cross over , some AF appearence.
Dr Strange #46 Infinity War cross over , some AF appearence. (Some fella turned in a nice AF collection, lots of Infinity War stuff.)
Sabretooth 1+2AF #8 (Finally get to read it)
Wolverine official handbook thing (Lots on AF)
Weapon X #28 - I do hope they get to finish this some how.
HellBlazer #200 (Must be a reason I'm still reading this)
Wanted #5 : Mindless Mayhem (God Bless Mark Millar)
Doctor Spectrum #2 : Not been disapointed yet.
Authority 'More Kev' #4 of 4 : One of those books, where each time you get a new issue, you read the previous ones again before treating yourself to the new one.
Singularity 7 #3 : For some unknown reason, I have convinced myself that Templesmith has turned in a good story and will wait for all issues to be printed before reading.
Queen & Country #27 (Pure Class)
Uncanny X-Men #449 - 451 (Must be a reason why I'm still picking this up, be ****ed if I know what it is.)
C.S.I : Dominoes #2 of 5, the TV series in sequential artform.
C.S.I Miami 48pg One Shot (Miami doesn't get a limited, just infrequent one shots. Well worth the read though)
Cla$$war #5 & 6 (finally got the things, just got to figure where I put the first four then I'll have a story) :-)
