In the letter pages of Captain Canuck #1 Vol. 3 is a website address where you are given a topic and a deadline by which to enter an original comic. The site is called Strip Fight and the address is:
http://www.bentcomics.com/stripfight/
The public then votes on the best one. I don't know what happens after that, but if anyone else does let me know.

Hmmm... I guess this probably means that they printed an email that I sent to Richard Comely. I hadn't heard back from them, so had assumed that they didn't get it.
Did that issue just come out? My comic shop hasn't got it in yet.
Anyhow, about Strip Fight...
The best comic strip from each round gets their banner displayed on all of the main pages until a new champ is declared. Each round lasts one week.
Every fifth round is a prize round, so, in addition to the banner, the winner gets a prize. In the past this has included things such as $30 USD in comics/graphic novels (winner's choice), a GBA SP, a Hardcover Chris Ware GN, etc... The next prize round will give the winner a chance to see their comic in print in a magazine.
The Strip Fight community is a pretty good one. Feedback and critiques are given in the Strip Fight forum (http://www.bentcomics.msgbrd.com/). For a lot of people, it's been a great place to hone their skills.
