Congrats Ben! I know you two will be happy. Wish I could make it (as I've said numerous times), but alas, time constraints and having to go to Yellowknife in September kinda puts a dampener on it.

Now I'm going to be a jerk and steal some of your thunder:

Ben's not the only one getting married. I too am getting married, just not as soon. September 6, 2008 may SEEM like a long way off, but not when you have to pay for it yourself :P

Congratulations you guys! =D> It must be something in the air as one of the guys in my office proposed to his girlfriend (in a really cool way) a little over a week ago, and a woman on one of the other crews at work became engaged shortly before that. Ah, Spring.

Thanks everyone. The date keeps changing (getting earlier) We are now looking at July 31st. Crazy to think in 2 months I'll be married. I'm pretty excited...and nervous, but above all extatic.

We planned our wedding for July 21st but had to do it July 6th because that was the only time my in-laws could come. Fun, fun, fun!

Nice choice of dates! On July 31st I'll be celebrating my 13th Anniversary. Maybe we can help each other remember the date and number of years down the road, so our spouses will remain pleased with our memory and romance. Congrats again!

I was gonna say, to Ben, congratulations to both you and your soon-to-be widow.
And, to Allan, congratulations, who's the luc--
who's the guy?

But I won't be that mean or cynical either.

Bob Barker: Alright now, let's start the bidding. Jennifer? How much do you bid on the dinette set?
Jennifer: Uh...$675 Bob.
Bob Barker: $675. Steven?
Steven: $780.
Bob Barker: $780. Tammy?
Tammy: $781.
Steven (to Tammy): F**k you!"

Um, funny you should ask, Mik.... It's a woman. I won't get into detail here, lets just say, before you start jumping to presumed conclusions, that that conclusion would be wrong for the most part.

Well still happiness to all. HappyCanuck, are your nuptials in the summer or fall? My family has had marriages in early July (me), December (worked out badly), July two more times (my parents, big brother), and August (remember the Edmonton tornado? They missed it by 1 day). Oops, I forgot, one remarriage in April. Since I'm editing, September should be a good month, it's always nice to make it your own kind of special!

So good luck to all 4, and on with it all :D

Well, we live in a tourist-heavy area, and both of us are in the service industry, so the months of June through August are out. We wanted a summer-ish wedding, but knew that Spring (namely late March through May) was out, so we opted for the first week of September. It's still summer here until October, so that works VERY well.

I hope I didn't offend?
I just figured, since you're that a way inclined, and it's legal in Canada (right? ), you'd want to go that way.

Oh, no offence taken, mate, but I know your stance on homosexuality, and, while I can understand it to a limited degree and respect it, I have had the 'then you CAN'T be gay' speaches so many times it's driving me nuts. As I said, I know your stance, I just didn't want you to get the wrong ideas.

Basically, I'm a gay man, and God has a twisted sence of humour. I'm sure you can appreciate that. :D

Do you? I'm not sure, so this is a just in case.
I did congratulate you, and I meant it.

My stance is this:
As a Christian, I would never have sex with another guy. I would only have sex with a woman I was married to.

I'd love for you (all of you, mwahahaha!!! ) to become Christian to, and then to follow that. Until you do, I have no problem / business about who you marry or sleep with.
So, congratulations--whoever you're marrying.

Mik, I'm just going to say this quickly, then drop the topic - it's kind of overdominating Ben's announcement, and that wasn't my intent (I just wanted to SHARE the limelight :P).

I may have misworded what I meant, but you stated what I already knew in your follow up. THAT'S why I respect you beliefs and feelings in that matter, because you don't push them on others - myself included, and the Divine knows I've given you plenty of opportunity over the years.

Again, thank you for the congratulations.

As for Phil, did you think maybe you where simply mad and needed to go to an asylum? Just wondering...

All those weddings makes me wonder why I don't feel ready for a wedding...Ah YES! debts, debts, debts and no professionnal situations, yeah, that's it.

Tyanks ben and Legerd. Ben , you did not took that pick from your porn furniture, no? What funny is that I can't find a proper term in french, we always say bécosse which you willnot find in a dictionnary, because it's a deformation of the english word : backhouse.

So I guess, backhouse=outhouse, no?

I'm so happy if I get married one day I will never loose my name. You know I"m in love with my last name and would be a good reason to not married if I had to loose it. :P

hyphenate? like develop my comment a little bit more? On what ? my love for my last name or why I would never change last name?:P

Just to say that the birth names are the only legal names for official documents and you got to sent papers and pay to change name legally. We just don't bother and so women are not changing names anymore here in Québec. Did I answered your question properly?

He means would you combine the names.

Like Rebecca Romijn switching to Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. And back.

Thanks, I looked in a dictionnary and did not undertood how it link to the conversation, so you see the answer is no. It's also not done here because it's still a name change. Of course, I'm talking about people of 40 years old and less. Like my mother use my father's last name curently, but if she got to go to the hospital, she is listed as her maiden name only.
