Heather vs. Mac, no holds barred, fighting to the death (they're being mind-controlled or something), Heather with the geothermal suit. Who takes it and why?

Mac easily, he can fly beyond the reach of the geothermal vents and use long range weapons to hit her. Plus, does her suit even have a force field? Not that most writers seem to know that his does (X-Men, New Avengers....)

Yeah I think Mac wins this one easily! I like Heather's leadership skills, but when it's one on one, I think she loses!

Heather does have a forcefield and physically stronger with the suit, but Mac's computer mind and abilities dwarf Heather quite easily. While both were donning the E-M suit, Heather was struggling to keep up with Mac.

They confronted each other twice, first time Mac won second time Heather knew she was outclassed and that was before Mac used his computer mind to boot.

If Heather has the Geothermal suit and Mac has the Electro-Magnetic suit, Mac wins easily. They both can fly, but while Heather can fly at Mach-1, Mac can fly at something like Mach-33 or as fast as the speed of light.
Anyway Mac would just be more powerful and more intelligent. (Robot brain and all.)

Never liked that Geothermal outfit. Heather was the better leader without the costume! As leaders both Heather and Mac were initially plagued with self doubt. Still, let's have them make love not war!! :D That's if Heather is even still alive?

Yes, he actually could do that with his ability to control the entire E-M spectrum. Here he manipulates peoples motor functions

As Weapon Alpha, Mac knocked Wolverine out cold and held his own against the rest of the X-Men for a brief period before making a strategic withdrawl.

Seems to me that Mac is the superior combatant, but then what kind of man boasts about being able to beat up a woman?!?! Even in the world of superheroes that seems pretty lame.

Alpha Flight #94 (Vol.1): Guardian (Heather)
Headlok has gained control over half of the Fantastic Four, an entire town and half of the members of Alpha Flight. Now both factions go head to head to see who is be best. Heather knows she is overwhelmed so she must force her husband to activate his computer mind to break the telepathic link

I've been thinking about this and even after all this discussion I'm still going with Heather. Mac is a semi automaton, when he gets into butt kicking mode then victory is all he is after. Heather on the other hand is tempered by the human factor. Against Mac she was impeded by her humanity IMHO.

If you look at the final battle in vol 1, she alons, when it looks like Alpha is about to be defeated turns the tide of battle on her lonesome. Re-Reading those scenes just now influenced my thoughts on why I believe she is the better leader and in an no holds barred battle would beat Mac hands down.

Well she turned the tide by making Mac turn into his computer brain mode and then he saved everyone releasing everyone including the village from Headlok's control. Is she a better leader? yeah I think so, but not a better fighter due to Mac's brain he just has more power such as complete control of the entire E-M spectrum. Heather doesn't have that. Basically anything she tried, he easily countered and he didn't even activate his computer brain.

Well I'm going to Sudbury, won't be able to reply back for awhile. Ciao
