(I assume this would be the correct board for this topic 8) )
Mr. Oeming was saying how he wanted to really show the Canadian culture in the Omega book by bringing in Americans to contrast it. I actually think it's a great idea, as a show like Due South used the same premise and had some great moments. I couldn't find a lot of episodes on you tube but for those who have never seen it, here's some links to the pilot. Sorry, it's only available in 10 seperate parts. I really enjoyed it's run.

I watched it once in a while in french and/or english. It was good. The show, for a strange reason was translated in France and at one point Fraser Talked to what we believe was Quebecers, but the french accent trying to make a quebecer accent was so lame, I was not sure.

I'm not sure, it could be. But at the same time it had that nasal sound and accent of a Frenchman trying to do a quebecer accent. Trust me, I've heard many and most failed miserably. And I think they did not used shiak french/english mix, but I maybe wrong
If you're a big fan maybe you will know. It's a very small part, All I remember is that it was a couple in a car. I think they gave a lift to fraser and Diefenbaker. But I don't remember much more.
Love the shiak exemple, was it really said in the show? That would have been cool.

It kinda rings a bell, but I can't picture it at the moment. It's been so long since I was able to watch many of the shows. I know there was a scene where people picked them up and said they were from Ontario somewhere with bad Canadian accents saying "eh". Maybe in the french re-dubbing they changed it to a Quebec city and had bad quebec accents. No Shiak unfortunately.
Ray Vecchio: Ugh, you're the most irritating man in the world.
Fraser: Define irritating.
Ray Vecchio: Well... no.... you look it up, Mr. Encyclopedia.
Fraser: Well, I think you mean Mr. Dictionary.
lol I love that show.

I LOVE that show! Thanks to retro-TV station TVtropolis I get to see it again every weekday. They took every stereotype of Canada possible and used it somewhere somehow in the stories, while still mixing in little facts to surreptitiously educate viewers.
