Just picked up the most recent issue of Wolverine today. (Think its a week old, I dunno.) And saw something interesting. I felt this just barely was relavent enough for Alpha Flight to be put in the "Alpha Talk" thread. Its a quote by Wolverine about Canada, thats good enough right? I need validation!
Anyways...
Hill: "Are all Canadians this Judgemental?"
Wolverine: "When it comes to America pretty much."
This made me laugh my face off. As much as Canadians love Americans as their brothers this is pretty true and Guggenheim really impressed me with this insight.
Sidebar: Anyone who reads one of Wolverine's many comics notice a play up in his Canadianism lately? I don't know if they're just thinking he'd be more nationalistic due to the Civil War but it seems to be mentioned more than usual. Or maybe I'm overtired and hungry and imagining things.

I think Wolverine's Civil War tie-in is well-done. I admit I haven't been buying all the tie-ins, but this and Heroes-for-Hire are the ones that have impressed me and make this event worthwhile. Wolverine focusing on the true villain [Nitro, and ultimately Damage Control] hits the mark. Not even Captain America seems to be worried about bringing Nitro to justice. Captain America! Come on!
Wolverine's depth, diversity, and deadliness being shown is much appreciated.

Yeah I have noticed Wolverine's Canadaism (that even a word?) in a lot of different comics, such as the mini Deadly Genesis, he made a comment he was annoyed they pulled him away from a Leaf's game. There is one cover from Wolverine: Origins that has an american flag on his face, but you can buy the varient with a Canadian flag instead.
Anyways what irked me the most with Wolverine's tie-ins is how from one of Niro's blast Wolverine was reduced to nothing but a skelton and healed back in minutes. I know it's going to be explained in the upcoming issue, probally took MGH like Nitro it just still irked me.

Good that you can get the Canadian variant (I have the US, just like the art better), but you should note that was a parody of that issue's villain.
He'd had a US flag permanently carved into his face.
Guess who did it?

Think he's a fan of Domi? :P
I remember years ago, I read a "Weapon X - Team 7" teamup. I can't remember who did the talking but I think they were making sure each other weren't Russians or something. One of Weapon Xers ask who won the World Series in '74. Someone on Team 7 said "Baseball's for sissies, who won the Stanley Cup from '53 to '58?" Wolverine says "Montreal" 8) And they shake hands. Always loved that one.
I loved this arc. I don't normally pick up Wolverine but I'll continue to if Guggenheim ever comes back as writer. This was such a fun tie in, and I'm normally burned on these sorts of things.
