Anyone watch the show on SciFi (Sundays at 9 right beofre BSG)or have read the books?

I'm halfway through the first book and I quite like it. I'm also a little miffed because I was working on a similar fictional character for an indie comic. Ah, well. Also the same day I bought this book was the day I found out a show was made based on the series. Haven't seen the show yet.
