The next announcement

I'm being presumptuous, assuming that not only will Marvel announce Flight plans at Toronto, but that it'll be an Alpha Flight ongoing, the real deal, even if AF members Mac, Heather, Puck, MML, Zuzha, Shaman, and Snowbird are 'dead'.

What will it turn out to be, anyway?

I'm going to say full announcement. They've already said they're going to do a new Flight, so I'm thinking the con is where they'll spill who the characters are, the creative team, plot and due date. However, I'm wondering if it will be Alpha Flight or some other name since they have yet to say anything other than there will be a new "Flight" book.

Guys...I don't really want to rain on your parade, but "revisiting a Flight" does not, in any way translate to Alpha Flight (or even Omega) getting a new series (it could be an Omega guest appearance, the "Ultimate" Alpha Fakes in another "Ultimate" story or even a flashback story with the originals).

Cute...I'm not being negative, I'm being a realistic. We don't know know yet, what "Revisiting a Flight" means...There's really no point in getting over-excited about something we don't know exists yet...All that does is hurt the one getting excited, if nothing comes of it...Been there, done that...I and most everyone else here has been let down in the past and felt betrayed and cheated by Marvel...I'm frankly long past tired of it.

When or if they make an announcement, then that would be the time to get happy...Depending on what Marvel is giving us this time.

i 100% agree with you dana, but i have enough quotes to think it mat be more than just a guest appearance. you may be right, it may start out as a mini, but my guess is something with a "flight" on the cover will be on a book.

tomorrow is the toronto comic con, i can't imagine somebody not asking about alpha flight during one of the confrences.

Hopefully somebody will ask the questions that need to be asked...I hate seeing everyone feel let down or cheated (including myself) by no announcement or another possible Volume Three (or another Avengers West Coast/Force Works wannabee team set in Canada).

I really don't see why AF (or any book for that matter) needs a hook...All a book truly needs is a great creative team, with great ideas...If it goes thirty issues, I'd consider that a success, fifty to one hundred issues is rare now-a-days (but would be fantastic for another true Alpha Flight book, especially if it stars the originals...Maybe then, Marvel execs would see the light).

I usually decide if it's time to get excited around about issue #3... which is enough time to figure if the new thing with the word 'Flight' on the cover is
a) anything to do with Alpha Flight
b) any good at all
... of course, your results may vary.
