Today, I went to see "The Day the Earth Stood Still", and just before the movie started, I saw (as anticipated) the trailer for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". It looked great, even though I couldn't see Alpha Flight anywhere in it, (not a surprise).

"Wolverine" is coming out May 1, 2009. Needless to say, I think it will be a huge hit, which will no doubt lead to a sequel. Wouldn't it be great if AF could be in it? I'd love to see our favorite heroes on the big screen. Sasquatch and Snowbird alone would be awesome in CGI!

Have any of the rest of you seen the "Wolverine" trailer? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Haven't seen the trailer, but it's already been mentioned on the forum that some scenes are set at 'The Hudson Farm'.

To be honest, I hope the Alphans aren't in this one. I already know the movie has fallen for one of the classic blunders--way, way too many characters.

Deadpool is going to be in this movie.
HAVE to see this.

I think their are going to choose deadpool over AF.
Simple because the younger crowd will like a awsome ninja guy over some dude in a red and white suit.

Deadpool will be played by Ryan Phillipe, which is perfect casting, and imperfect spelling. Still better than Tori Spelling, tho'.

What about some awsome ninja guy over some dude in a red and white suit? Remember--this time of the year, kids around the world are really, really hoping for some dude in a red and white suit to sneak into their houses.

You mean Ryan Reynolds...Ryan Philipe as Deadpool would be a cruel joke. Also the Deadpool fan forums are ------------------------>

I have to be honest after you said it. I was picturing Ryan Philipe trying to play Deadpool. While amusing to think of. I have been unable to un-burn the image from brain. I have not been this scarred since someone once told me to picture the comedian Gilbert Gottfried doing the Voice of Darth Vader. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8wOTcv5E38 here is a good example of his voice...let your imagination do the rest.

I've just seen the trailer, and it looks pretty cool. Still too many characters, but.

Well how else are they gonna sell all the action figures and merchandise? I mean it just cant be a good story about a few key characters it has to be marketed and sold to Taco Bell, a cell phone company, the video game rights, the comic version, the posters...

Now, now Dfense! As they say on Discworld, that was very cynical and accurate.

Ooh, but it looks like they'll be using the James Howlett origin, which could be cool.

It does seem they are going that route which is cool. 1 thing im concerned about is I didnt see Deadpool with his mask and when they showed him he was not disfigured. I certainly hope they dont just throw that little factoid out the window because Ryan Renolds happens to be a good looking guy.
