In the "Serenity: Those Left Behind" TP (Dark Horse comics, 2006), the forward is written by actor Nathan Fillion.

Nathan talks about being a comic book fan as a child. And, he mentions Alpha Flight..."Soon, Archie, Dot, and Richie Rich gave way to Spider-Man, Captain America, X-Men, and Alpha Flight (Canada's very own super team). Now, around this time, my memories blur a bit, but what I remember is this - I wanted to be a superhero."

Nathan Fillion played Captain Malcom "Mal" Reynolds in the 2002 tv series Firefly, as well as in the 2005 motion picture Serenity.

Another Alpha Flight fan.

Yeah, I think I mentioned that when it came out... but here's the closest I can find in a thread (http://forum.alphaflight.net/viewtopic.php?t=1526&start=30).

Still, cool, eh? !

I thought you'd been around longer than that!

And, yeah, any time's a good time to join the Firefly fandom. Pity you don't live in Australia; then you could get the Serenity DVD with me on it!

Oh, you are going to have to explain that one for me...my interest is now offically piqued.

It's actually pretty much what it says on the tin.
In Australia, there is, or was a two-disc set of Serenity. The second disc has a Q & A with Joss Whedon (filmed at a premiere before the movie opened); I asked one of the Qs, and am now on the DVD.

(It looks like it's on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc0vCQSFJDU&feature=related), but this computer can't access it. Let's play spot the question Mik asked!)

edit: It's on the above link. Roughly two minutes in.

So, "It's just you", then?
If that was you, then I find that to be a very interesting question, actually. Because, "It'd be me too, then".
Huh. Go figure.

Good on you, for making it to the big show, though, fame and stardom and all that. :P

I didn't stop laughing about that answer for a week. :)
