Well, looks like Lil isn't having the best of time in X-Force! But at least we know Madison still remembers her!

Did they just kill Lil? Oh lord Marvel truely does hate Alpha Flight

That would be #23, right?
Hmm... from that Necrosha crossover that has the Lost Boys poster. Kewl.

Well, it certainly continues her tradition of being random mutant canon fodder, sigh. But oddly, seeing as it's the most panel time she's had since AF volume 2 ended, I can't actually be that upset.

I still don't get how she even got choked out to be honest.

Check the pic again KM you can see a black aura around, I guess that's Selene's hand. I assume she used her death touch to kill her. Of course, Selene might just bring her back from the dead, right? Right?

I still don't get how she even got choked out to be honest.

The girl that "choked" her is Mortis. She has a death touch. Should have known that seeing Lil in X-Force wasn't a good thing... those guys have a reputation. I was just hoping that they were closet Alpha Flight fans, not writers setting up mutant redshirts for this story.
Sigh...

Chris Yost just dropped this little tidbit over at CBR:

Keep an eye out for Nation X #3 for more Box/Diamond Lil.
So at least her death hopefully won't be completely out of the blue/never referenced again.

I know, but technically her death touch wouldn't even make contact with Lil though due to her bio-aura.

I know, but technically her death touch wouldn't even make contact with Lil though due to her bio-aura.

Well according to her Marvel bio, her aura merely toughens her body on the molecular level, it doesn't stop contact.

Diamond Lil’s body generates a bio-aura of nigh-impenetrable energy that permeates her molecular structure to grant her skin durability akin to that of diamond. Though able to deflect most forms of physical or energy-based impacts, Lil still feels the force of such blows. Similarly, Lil’s bio-aura also affords her protection against temperature extremes. Her nails and hair are similarly permeated, even after being removed from her body. Lil’s bio-aura limits her sense of touch.

Remember during AF#74 when Spider-Man fought Lil and shot her with his webs? They didn't stick to her as the bio-aura prevented it. She has commented she cant "feel" things anymore due to the bio-aura preventing it.

Yup, but I'm betting Kyle and Yost don't even know about that story and are interpreting her power as just diamond-hard skin. Not trying to argue with you, just pointing out that, going by her Marvel bio, there's nothing there to say her aura has a forcefield-like effect preventing touch. Most likely the writers are treating it as if she's just invulnerable to injury so they use a death touch to get around that.
If anything, I'm more pissed off that, with all Lil's martial arts training, Mortis was able to just grab her throat so easily. DL couldn't block her attack? Couldn't at least get a punch in? It's just another instance of throwing an AF character under the bus to make the bad guys look dangerous. And, I'm thinking, to get rid of them so there can't be a new AF book.

Her bios also say she doesn't have super strength, but we know that isn't the case.

There a link for the quote at all?

Yup, but like I said, the writers are probably going by the bio more than they would old AF stories.

Quite a lot of people were annoyed with Lil's death from the first link

I agree, particularly with the second part of that.

Marvel hates us all.

I see there is talk (unfounded, of course, so far) that Lil was making clones of herself? Seems to me, cloning is another thing that has been overdone with AF characters...

Hmm... And I'd always thought they'd just ignored AF #12.
I got X-Force 22 yesterday. Lil and Jeffries were in it, but barely.

So, it's now Flashback Lil?

Where did this clone thing come about? I havn't heard of this, I think that's more fan speculation.

Yeah, pretty sure the clone thing was just a joke.

As I am not following any of these titles, I cannot say; only repeating what I have read.

Hopefully, no clones. Hopefully, Lil is not dead. Hopefully, Wild Child is alive, and Marrina is alive, and all the guys killed in New Avengers 16 were evil robots and not really Alpha Flight at all.

Well, those preview pages were pretty much the extent of her appearance here, aside from a panel of Madison holding her body and saying that he never stopped loving her. Kinda broke my heart a little, actually. D:

Definitely dead then. Joy.

Well the Nation X storyline apparently takes place before Necrosha, so the cameo in #3 will probably be quite moot now.

How long till Madison hooks up with Danger then?

Oh God I can't believe it!
They are sistematically killing ALPHA FLIGHT accross all the f---- MARVEL titles...
This is horrid and terrible. They are killing our heroes. Why? Because MARVEL only cares for those boring X-issues.

I'm not going to say "I told you so", but I didn't think it was a good omen that all the remaining Canadian mutants were camping out on the X- Men's merry mutant island of death. Sigh...This is certainly depressing.

I too have been reeling with the attitude of lets kill off and debase Alpha Flight at every opportunity that seems to be pervasive at Marvel HQ these days.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to see Madison Jeffries playing such an integral role in the X-Books and seeing Northstar in the background is great even if they don't seem to play him true to form in either personality or abilities. But I always held out some hope that from the travesty that was Omega Flight their just be a chance of a relaunched team. Narya, Walter, the Twins and Elizabeth making up the core but pulling in Wild Child, Lil and or Marrina heck they could even keep Arachne. Obviously not to be.

When Namor killed Marrina (again) it seemed so pointless other than to demonstrate how evil Osbourne can be. Okay so poor Miss Smallwood never really had a chance at happiness from the get go - heck she went all feral Plodex in Vol.1 Issue 2. right? I could get past that. But Lil? Say it isn't so.

When Jeffries started to play a major role in the X-Books I figured it was only a matter of time before we saw Lil who we all knew was alive (thanks to the 198). They had SO much bumper material to pull from to flesh out some lovely back stories for this pair - but no. Some idiot child with no respect for the characters in his charge wanted a gratuitous and pointless death that doesn't even makes sense when you think about Lil's powers. Ridiculous.

I am a sad Alpha fan. Sad for Aurora and Persuasion stuck in limbo. Sad for Walter & Narya who are out there from time to time ever looking over their shoulders to see if Joe Q has them in his sights. Sad that Jean Paul gets one line cameos and no real development after a promising beginning back with the X-Folks (wary of the fact that he's already been killed twice before now). Sad that Heather, Puck & Shaman are stuck in that bloody casino in Atlantic City.

But most sad for the fact that Michael Pointer still exists. Thank heavens for some small mercies however that he is out of the Guardian suit.
