This tutorial outlines how to create a new article for the AF.net website. Included are the steps on how to include images from your hard drive, and configure them to be aligned and sized as you like.

Step 1.
Click on the "Create New Article" button on the home page

Fill in the form fields:
Title: The Name of your article - The SEO URL Alias below the title will auto fill once you have entered the title
Write the body/text of your article
Fill in the META information. This isn't strictly necessary, but helps search engines to find stuff.

Step 3.
To add images into your text, they must first be on your hard drive. Click the cursor in the Body/test of you article where you want the image to appear. Click on the "Insert Image" icon on the tool bar.

Ensure you are on the "From Computer" tab.
click the "Select Files" button. Brows to the image(s) on your hard drive you would like to attach. I find it's best to do images one at a time if I'm using more than one.

Once the image(s) show up on the file box, click on the "Upload File(s)" button. When the process is complete, this box will disappear, and you will see your images in the article.

Step 6.
Now that the image is in your document, you need to configure it to appear in the location and the size you want. By placing your cursor over the image, you will see a yellow pencil appear in the top left corner of the image. Click on the pencil.

Alignment - Dictates where in the document the image will appear. Once an alignment is chosen text will wrap around it.
Size - Images will appear more clear and crisp if they don't get re-sized. For images scattered through an article, it is best to have the original image on your hard drive already sized to how you want it to appear. Resizing through this interface is however convenient when you want to show a big copy of the image, such as in with issue covers on a review. Automatically re-sized images link to the full sized version. In that scenario, it is best to choose the thumbnail option.
Title - (Not necessary but helps search engines) - This is the title of your image
Description - (Not necessary but helps search engines) - This is the desctiption of your image
Don't do anything with this

Click on the Save icon at the top of the interface. This will now show you the article you have written. If by chance things don't look just right, mouse-over the title, and you will see a pencil icon appear to edit it.

Your article is now done, and in the queue for one of the admins to publish. If you like, feel free to send one of us a Private Message as a heads up.
