Similar to the 1-page Origin books Origins of Siege #1 and Origins of Marvel Comics #1 published earlier this year, the X-men version has a page for Northstar (!!) and a page for the X-Club with Jeffries. Nice! The page with Northstar shows the full Alpha Flight team too!

How the heck does stuff keep showing up at the used shop day-of-release? Ah, well. It was to my advantage this time -- I got this book for less than a buck today.

Nice Northstar illustration by Dave Yardin (he even got the ears right!). Mike Carey flubbed the twins' origin a bit though -- "A troubled and tragic childhood lead twins Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie Beaubier to rely on each other for everything..." ? I think he may be confusing our beloved Beaubier twins with the Maximoffs. Gains points for the end blurb, though.

I'm normally loathed to pay $3.99 for something like this, but it was a really nice page.
I like that Si Spurrier's included the Box armour too!
