View Full Version : So does anyone here own the VINDICATOR Bowen Bust?

I have all of Alpha Flight, through Bowen Designs (Sasquatch {though white, not the orange... yet!}, Shaman, Puck, Northstar, Aurora, Shaman and Snowbird)... the one that eludes me... Vindicator. He was impossible to find and now fetches a high price on ebay. Just curious if any other Alpha fans managed to get their hands on it?

I've got the male Vindicator, just not the female one :(

Bowen Designs didn't do a female one did they?

Her & Marrina are the only ones I've never actually seen in the flesh.

Ah, how could I forget. I have Marrina also.
I don't recognize that one as being from Bowen Designs... I wonder how that one ever got by me! Yeegads. Going to research that one... certainly looks like a Bowen piece.

The Heather is Diamond Select, not Bowen.
And, yes, I have the Mac.

I've got the whole AF line-up; I managed to snag Mac's bust for almost shelf-price from eBay a while back, and my mom completed the line-up over my birthday when she surprised me with a Puck. All in boxes right now, alas.

I always admired Heather's bust.;)
A Jim Lee era Box bust would work really well.

Both Pucks! Nice. And... I don't recognize the second Snowbird you have (I know Bowen only did one... is the other Diamond Select also?)
I see, like me, you have the White Sasquatch, not the Orange One yet (from Bowen).

Now I could reply with a comment like "at least I hope I could do stand up better than Bochs" but then I think the tact police might just barge through my front door and slap my hand... so I won't.

I got one of those Pucks over Amazon... and made sure to write the seller first.
With the Sasquatches, I didn't see the point (at the time) of buying a second orange, but a white one...
My Snowbirds are Diamond and Bowen, yes. The Diamond one has fingers.

No, but I'm more open to the possibility than I was when I'd just spent all that money on busts.

I dunno if you use eBay... but it's an excellent place to nab some of these VERY cheap.

eBay is how I got several of those sculpts.
It's not that cheap, though, when you have to add international postage.

Yeah I have all the busts as well.
Here is a great thread with interesting pictures of most of the bowen busts (as well as other great Alpha items)

I hate you. LOL
You have orange Sas and Vindicator... (and a custom Talisman?)
The others I have.
Your Snowbird isn't a Bowen either, though.
I like the Bowen Snowbird more, because it has her arms and such.
Though, really. It's Snowbird. As much as I love her, it doesn't matter. :-D

I've just checked against mind, and the armless one is the Bowen. The one with arms is Diamond. The one with no fingers is Diamond after a fall from a bookcase...
Out of curiosity, Reksuh, why did you collect almost all the Bowens, but none of the Diamonds? And one fan-made?

Yeah the armless one is the Bowen, you can tell by the sweet sweet base:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/reksuh/Alpha%20Flight/BOWEN_2.jpg
I love the fact that all the creatures that Snowbird transformed into are worked into the base.
I collected mainly Bowen because I thought they looked better than the Diamonds (especially in the case of Sasquatch although this kit is SUPER sweet)
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/reksuh/Alpha%20Flight/SASFIN3.jpg
The Talisman kit I got because I came across her in my travels, and I LOVED the sculpt (and I think she is an integral part of Alpha Flight).
I didn't paint her, I got to this stage and then chickened out
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/reksuh/Alpha%20Flight/Talisman003b.jpg
It was almost a three year pain in the ass process, but the end result was pretty good.
I'm glad that I haven't come across the Master or Wild Child

I didn't know about the Master.
There's a Gilded Lily, too.
The thing about that Sas, if it's the one I think it is, is that it's to scale. IE: HUGE.

The only non-Bowen bust I have is Heather, and that's because Bowen stuck with the original line-up only. The Diamond busts just look a little too assembly-line for me and I tend not to love their paint jobs.

I agree about the assembly-line look. They are definitely not Bowen quality, but if I ever came across Heather in my travels I would probably pick her up.

If I hadn't snagged mine for so cheap, I probably wouldn't have bothered, even with my completionist tendencies...but it was right there! There's a reason 'fan' is short for 'fanatic', I guess. ;)

The Eaglemoss figurines are pretty cool too. I cannot wait until they come out with Northstar, Aurora, and Shaman. So far they've got Guardian, Sasquatch and Puck, and a new Snowbird that is absolutely Awesome!

I'm more partial to my John Byrne custom Guardian and the other pieces I did than what Eaglemoss has come out with. I don't have Sasquatch and Puck yet. I'm not thrilled about the short Sas or too-tall Puck.

Seconded!
The thing with robotic characters (like Box) is that they can be made them much closer to the 'real' ones than flesh characters, since the materials are already stiff and 'dead'.
