Whether you liked or disliked Bill Mantlo's work on ALPHA FLIGHT... what had happened to him was extremely tragic and undeserving (especially since they never caught the motherfrakker who did the hit and run)...

Fund raiser for him. Not that I expect anyone here to donate (because it will no doubt fetch a high price) - but just figured I'd pass it around.

I personally, have freely admitted, I disliked Mantlo's work on AF (but then I disliked a lot of people's touch on AF). But what happened, as I said, is beyond tragic. I hope whoever did this, suffers some kind of fate equally horrible, if not worse.

Thanks for posting this, I don't know him but he doesn't deserve our disdain because of his work on AF.

He doesn't deserve a hit-and-run.

Yeah, the disdain for his work on AF is pretty well-founded, IMO. That doesn't make what happened to him any less of a tragedy.

Loved his stuff with Cloak and Dagger. <3

Lets perhaps concentrate on the good things Mantlo did for AF.

He put Heather in the Guardian suit.

Debatable as to whether that was a good thing or not. >_>

Actually, I have what is probably a pretty unpopular one! While the storyline was never used to its full potential, I have kinda grown to really like the whole 'Wanda Langkowski' thing. Insane? Kind of, yeah. But the resulting identity issues and stuff that Walt went through were pretty cool, I thought. And I've actually really developed a fondness for the Guardian/Sasquatch/Box 3-person AF, that was a solid team.

What I liked about that was that the guy actually going through it seemed to be the one least affected by it. Cute. :)
