Yeah, it was more the fact he's Weapon 8 which would have meant Mac would have made the suit before Wolverine was captured and made into Weapon 10, and thus before him & Heather found Logan.

Frankly, I always read it as either "Weapon X" (and ask 'which one?'), "Weapon Alpha" (and think Mac!), or "Weapon blah blah blah".
