Hey all. For an experiment I've tried adding some topical amazon adds to the site. It's a good way for people looking for issues to find them while supporting the site. I think I've integrated them in an unoffensive way, but if you find it a problem, speak up :)

Looks good to me! I practically support amazon singlehandedly as it is.

Oh, it's perfect. I didn't even notice myself. Great work; I'll check it out.

Is that why the title bar is squashed to the side?

Sorry, I've got my computer set to get rid of advertising on sites, especially topical.
(I got somebody's help to do it, and I don't remember how. I think I use 'Ad Blocker'?)

Here's one.
It might've always been like that, and I never had my attention drawn to it before.

Always like that, Mik.

The ads are added at the bottom of the page, and shouldn't affect anything. They are down below the Postings Permission box, just above the Contact Us bar.

Thanks. Just checking; it didn't look any different, but I wondered if that had changed.

Why are the ads there? Does alphaflight.net need money again? I thought we had raised enough in the last round of donations to cover the site costs for a while.

No, the site doesn't need any money any time soon. This is just an experiment. If by chance a trickle of money could come in showing topical adds, it could avoid having to ask members to for support down the road. More than anything it's just me playing around, and I wanted to be sure it's not offensive to anyone in the process. Chances are good it'll be gone in a couple more days.

Usually takes a few months for any amazon stuff to come through though, right?

Keep it up. If any of us go to use Amazon at any time, we can help the site.
