Here's the link (http://www.newsarama.com/games/brian-michael-bendis-marvel-mmo-110428.html)

It was stated that you will be able to play as established Marvel heroes, not player created ones. So the dream of playing as members of Alpha Flight could, in theory come true. If they decide to include them. And if Bendis doesn't kill them off in a cut-scene. Mind you there could also be one hundred other Guardians flying around too. #-o

Seeing some stuff that I like here, particularly the FTP model. But man, DCU Online was such a burn...

"the ultimate answer to message board *****ing"

There is something very degrading and condescending about Bendis' humour.

I have no idea what an online MMO is but it sounds fun! Is it like a game I play on playstation?

Every time Bendis opens his mouth, I dislike him more and more.

As for the MMO, I doubt players will be able to play as Marvel heroes...It will probably be along the lines of a player creating their own character and playing missions along-side Marvel heroes?

You may be right, but that seems to go against what the article is saying.

No prob, Dana. No need to apologize. I might have made one (or even possibly two) mistakes before in a post...

MMO means Multi Media Online. Its an RPG with real time interaction with other players. Im at work so I cant read the article but it took years for DCU to come out and then they added the monthly fee so I didnt buy it. I think more people would buy the game if it didnt have the monthly fee. Take Madden. Its the #1 selling game every year and you can play that online for free. If it was free, I could see all the Guilds being flashed over the players heads - Alpha Flight , Avengers and such

Actually, Im pretty sure it means "Massive Multiplayer Online" as at one time the acronym was MMORPG and has been shortened over the years to just MMO.

Wildcard is indeed correct in what MMO stands for. Although it was not touched directly upon in the initial release. They will more than likely use a more instanced based game to alleviate having 1000 Wolverines and Spider-mans running around. Time will tell if they pull that off correctly but I am intrigued with how well they will pull it off. I still happily play City of Heroes and it will hold me over to till this is released.

On a side note the prospect of a bunch of us Alphans playing together online with our favorite heroes sounds quite promising. I love the "B" and "C" list characters. I'll take using a hero the likes of Falcon, Stingray, or Songbird over the "A" list any day.

I too believe it will feature a few "hub" cities (where everyone can interact with each other) then you split off in your groups and do instanced (private) missions. But until I hear who is actually involved with making this game, my expectations are low. Made lower by Bendis's involvement.

But being able to play a game set in the Marvel U, especially our own version of the Flight would be awesome.
But, it's a long ways away I'm sure. Typically MMO's can take 3-5 years to be developed then launched. I've been waiting on Star Wars The Old Republic I think for four years now.
