So, just thinking off the top of my head...

Is Aurora the only member of the team to not have died?

If we're talking recognised core team then I think you're right, but Talisman could be in that group?

Yes. But we aren't ever supposed to mention that they died, not ever again; okay?

Didn't Somon kill her, Northstar, and Aurora way back in the story when they were searching for Walter's soul? I remember a scene where a giant vision of Somon stabs his fingers through them, killing them. Shaman then uses some of Walter's soul to revive them. That happened right? Or am I confusing reality with fantasy?

You're right Legard. Northstar, Aurora and Talisman are killed by Somon and revived by Walters soul. He tricked them, One of power, One of hate and One of Love etc.

I'd forgotten about that.

Hmm...

Jeffries, Shaman, Lil and Nemesis all had to die to enter the realm of 'Carcass' AF #125 ish. We're running out of candidates. :)

Ah...I didn't remember that story.

Stitch? Unless she's currently deceased (...And if she even counts as a member of Alpha Flight)?

Volume 2 and 3 Alphans? Murmur, Flex and Yukon Jack?

Well, I meant from the current 8 when I posed the question, but it's interesting to see all the deaths mount up.

So I guess they've all bit the big one at some point (a few more than once).

Another thing that struck me, given Nicieza's retconning and storyline (which has been ages since I read it) has Mac actually died other than in New Avengers?

I don't count the difference, usually.
Didn't he die at the end of Nicieza's run? To defeat Galactus?

Another fake out wasn't it? He bounced through to another dimension or something where the Master found him. He was brainwashed, and came back in issue #130 to fight AF.

Yes it was believed he died powering Galactus' weapon, but yeah it was a fake out as he returned (as Anti-Guard).

Mac only officially died in New Avengers #16 for the first time.

What about Feedback, Windshear, Manikin, Persuasion? Flex, Ghost Girl, Radius, Murmur, Flinch....

Didn't he die in the X-men Annual where Baby Hudson was born only to be brought back by Angel's "healing blood"?

Feedback was never a member of Alpha Flight (same for Flinch), feedback was said to be deceased after his appearance in X-Men as a member of X-Corporation, but he was later "revealed" to be alive. The others never died, that I know of (some of them I already mentioned).

Didn't Windshear get consumed by the Collective, or whatever the Bendis-beast was that killed AF?

?I don't think so... certainly not with them, since he was nowhere near that when it went down.
I thought the mutants it absorbed all got restored, and never 'died', just lost their powers?... but I don't know much about it.

Ahhh.... the Austen era.
X-Men Unlimited #45.
*shudder*
I was never sure whether he actually legally died or if Angel saved him from the brink of death.

I thought the Collective only absorbed all the mutant energies after the "No More Mutants" event stripped them of their powers? I remember a story with Windshear (in an X-men comic IIRC) in which he was now an artist with a shop in England that occurred before the NA #16 AF death. He had no powers, but previously had somehow found a way to make his hard air constructs permanent.

I apologize to everyone for bringing that up, and opening old wounds. :(

Yeah, not sure either. Will have to root around in my comics to find that issue.

Thunderbolts #43. Way before the M-Day storyline though.

Thank you for bringing up such a painful memory. Why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it while you're at it?
It's... I...
I can't talk about it now.

Also, no, Phil, Mac died illegally. He didn't have a permit.
They were gonna arrest him, but Angel brought him back.

He hadn't lost his powers in that story; he used them to make his art.

Windshear was officially depowered and his powers showed up on the New Avengers control screen saying the Collective had his and various other mutant powers.

Didn't he die in the X-men Annual where Baby Hudson was born only to be brought back by Angel's "healing blood"?

No, close to death. Angel's blood heals, it does not bring people back from the dead

Yeah never explained but maybe Romulus modified the Secret Empire's modifications.

Also not sure if he he actually died as he didn't pop up in Hell.

Very true, just Omega Red died from the same story and he was there is all. We will have to wait and see I suppose.
