View Full Version : Variant Covers
There's been some talk on Dale's website regarding the difficulty in obtaining his variant covers. There were plenty of them in my area. (Funny thing is, there were NO Jimenez covers!) If anyone would like one going forward, I would be happy to pick one up for you, as long as you were willing to reimburse me for it and the shipping when I sent it to you. Seems crazy to spend $10 or more on a variant (though shipping from the US to England or other countries might cost more than that?). In any case, I am just putting it out there if you're having a hard time finding it.

There's no shortage of them in NYC area either. I saw a thick stack of them at Midtown Comics. It was an incentive variant, so smaller stores that ordered fewer than X copies didn't get one. Dunno what X is, 25? This is likely the problem.

I went to a store in Wheaton, one in Silver Spring, and one in Greenbelt, but none of them had the Eaglesham variant. The store in Wheaton didn't order enough of the regular version to get the variant, Silver Spring said it sold out, and Greenbelt had a bunch of the regular ones...but no variant.
While I was at the Wheaton store, I saw that John Byrne's Next Men are back. Unfortunately, I didn't like the 1st go-round (I stopped around 8 or 9), and don't have any real interest in them.
#1 was 1:25 I believe.
#2 is 1:15 so there should be more of them.

I saw copies of #1 for sale in San Francisco, Fort Collins (Colorado), and Phoenix. I never noticed the variant - but I wasn't looking, either. I decided not to buy it until I got back to my standing-order shop.

Spoilerific stuff etc. Have updated this (http://www.alphaflight.net/content.php?463-Alpha-Flight-3-Solicitation) with a coloured, unlettered version of Dale Eagleshams variant for #3.

I thought X was 23!

Unless I missed something, i just picked up that first issue a few weeks ago. They aren't BACK, they just re-printed the first issue.

From what I've read - and either or both my memory or my reading could be faulty here - the reprint is a lead-in to a new series.

Really? Hmm...from the read I gave of that issue # 1, it was hardly worth the dollar I paid for it. Sorry JB, I'll pass. (maybe if you put Sasquatch and Wild Child in it?...just a thought...)

I remember it being okay - but I never followed up by reading the original series.

I found the characters to be too whiney, even in that short amount of time.
Also, anyone who doesn't like characters controlled by the government, shouldn't read this series (at least, not based on the first issue).
