View Full Version : Ultimate Alpha Flight to Return
1) Now that the secret about mutants is out worldwide, will we find out what's happened to the other mutant superheroes, such as Alpha Flight?
Yes. Ultimate Alpha Flight will factor into our story in a couple places down the road, but not for a while.

Thanks... but no thanks.
I've never had much interest in anything the Ultimate universe has to offer. To me, they're completely unnecessary. The whole concept of taking established characters and "re-imagining" them just so the writers don't have to follow their bios and origins seems more lazy than innovative.
I've spent the better part of 30 years following Marvel characters... why would I bother reading about cheap new knock-off versions. Just because they call these other characters the Avengers, X-Men, or Spider-Man doesn't mean they are.
When Marvel creates new characters with the same names as previous ones but with different bios, origins, and personalities, its apparently called innovative... if another company did it, it would be called copyright infringement.
Again, simply my opinion... for what its worth. :)

Do Wildchild and Diamond Lil exist in the Ultimate version? XD I know, I know, I'm going to get my hopes crushed again.

Nope, the only true Ultimate Alpha Flight members that have a 616 Alpha Flight counterpart is Northstar, Aurora and James and Heather Hudson (but they do not wear the Guardian or Vindicator suit).....as far as I know. Puck may have appeared in Ultimate X-Men at a circus but its not confirmed.
The rest of U.Alpha Flight were mutants on sterioids (literally): Vindicator (John Wraith/Pathway), Shaman (Believed to be Warpath or Thunderbird), Jubilee, Sunfire, Sasquatch (Rahne Sinclair/Wolfbane), and Snowbird (Believed to be Danielle Moonstar/Mirage).

Yes, I know they were not OUR Alpha Flight. That doesn't take away the fact that they were fun to read about. I'd buy (monthly) a book based on them. But that is just my opinion.

CBR (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=37634) reported that Brian Wood is taking over Ultimate Comics X-Men from Nick Spencer starting in June. I'm guessing we probably won't see Ultimate Alpha Flight now. And I know some of you don't care either ;) But if Mark Paniccia is still editing the book, maybe there's a chance they'll show up later on.

Is that Talisman or Snowbird?
It's hard to tell in alternate realities.
