So, just off-hand, without making anybody sweat too much, what appearances did Alpha Flight have (outside of their own series) during JB's run (issues one thru twenty-eight) ? Just trying to get down on paper (or pc screen) a chronological order of any appearances in that timespan. Anybody help a guy out? Were there any, that early in their existence?

Plenty. Speaking of which, I was thinking of editing the quality of appearances into the Chronology thread, which I'm about to dig up and link to, but haven't yet while I'm typing, but will have by the time you read this.
This is freaky.

Okay, there should be somewhere you can click on this (edit: the little 'fast forward' arrows next to my screen name in the quote) that'll take you back to the original thread, but I've decided to edit out of this quote the ones that weren't published during or before that run:

Incredible Hulk #s 180-181
Giant-Sized X-Men #1
Uncanny X-Men #109 / Classic #16

Thanks to your help, I just placed an order with http://www.milehighcomics.com/ for the following comics:

Classic X-Men #s 1, 45, and 46
Machine Man # 18
Contest of Champions #s 1, 2, and 3
Marvel Two-In-One #s 83, 84, and Annual 7
Marvel Team-Up Annual # 7
Incredible Hulk #s 272, 273, 279, and Annual # 8
Crystar # 11
Rom #s 56, 57, and 58
Secret Wars # 4
and Fantastic Four # 267

I'll still be missing five issues out of the list you made up for me. I doubt i will ever get Hulk 180 and 181, not unless there are cheap re-prints out there. All the issues I just purchased, they are all low-quality, just good enough to read for myself.

Thanx again!

FP07

ps - ya also got a 'shout-out' at http://canadas-own-the-flight.blogspot.ca/2012/04/my-newest-comics-af-related.html , dude!

Cool. If I'd known you'd do that, though...
(I'm sorry, I didn't think!)

Contest of Champions was collected in the Marvel Premiere Classics.
Classic X-Men #1 is not a great way to get Giant Size X-Men #1 - it messes with the original story in ways the other CXs don't.
My copy of Hulk 180 and 181 is definitely a cheap (when I bought it) reprint - there have to be others. And there are remakes. But this is a technical appearance only. (Come to think of it, all that applies to Gt-Size X-Men #1, too.)

Power Pack #s 9-10 are available in Power Pack Classics #1, and the Iron Man issues are in Marvel Premiere Classics: Iron Man: Iron Monger.

I'm figuring you have the Uncanny 109, 120, and 121; and Hulk 313? (The Uncanny are all in Marvel Premiere Classics: X-Men: Alpha Flight.)

Oh, and there's a Fantastic Four Visionaries: John Byrne series of trades that has Alpha appearances sprinkled throughout.

I read online that Classic X-Men # 1 was only a partial reprint of Giant Size X-Men # 1, but, since I wasn't sure if i could get the story elsewhere... *shrugs*

I'd love to get Hulk 180 + 181, even in a reprint. Guess i will have to Google it to try to figure out where it may have been reprinted.
*If anyone knows, drop me a bone.*

I own Power Pack 10 already, and only need 9 still. Not really any point buying 10 again. I would have picked #9 up, but was running low on cash.

Yes, i have the reprints of the three Uncanny issues, from X-Men Classics.

Actually, not worried so much about Hulk 313 right now. My main goal is to get all the relevant Flight appearances that take place BEFORE Volume 1 Issue 28 starts; m ultimate goal, once i have made sure i have rad all those issues, is to reboot Alpha Flight starting with the ending of the last page of Volume 1 Issue 27. So long, Mantlo run, and hello The Long Reign of Flightpath! :)

My copy is called "The Incredible Hulk and Wolverine" #1, (I mean, 10/10 for accuracy, -12 for imagination) and was printed in 1986 as part of Marvel's 25th anniversary.

I've got a Marvel Milestone edition of Gt Size #1 in my Alpha box... Man, how many reprints of that issue do I have? MM, X-Men Special Edition #1 (1982), Classic #1, and Marvel Masterworks...
I'm 'opeless.

Doesn't Wolverine make an appearance in Incredible Hulk #182, which is never reprinted with #'s 180 and 181? I've been trying to find a reasonably priced copy of #182 for probably 15 years now, as I currently have issues #183 until today.

Doesn't Wolverine make an appearance in Incredible Hulk #182? Not a clue. Such a pity you can't complete your collection, though. :(

Thanks, but that's the problem. I don't consider $20 for an appearance of Wolverine (unless its his first appearance) as "reasonably priced".
