OF APOCALYPSE

Well, despite the rounded ears, Northstar does get a quick but good showing. He uses his superspeed to take down a teleporter (finally! someone knows what to do with a speedster!). Also a nice little cameo of AoA Wild Child! He's a statue in the memory garden, a very respectful nod to the character.

EDIT: Thread merged with -K-M-'s thread started at the same time as mine.

Northstar has a decent role in the book, and actually was the one responsible for stopping AoA Nightcrawler.

Oh good eye on the statue I quickly glanced it and missed that.

This was an awesome dimension smashing issue. I hope Northstar takes out Dark Beast next. I'm still looking for some payback after the events in Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus.

I see his speed lines in the very last panel, so we know he's next ;)

Yup; he's right there between Wolverine and Iceman.

(Seems like a logical place for a Canadian!)

Wait for it, Marvel will fake us out and it will be Quicksilver. :p

Well technically then those speed lines ARE him, we humans just can't perceive his speed. Nice!

If it is him, seems like he is going to do something pretty darn impressive. I dont think we have to worry they will kill him

That's an interesting statement. Do you think Northstar is death-proof now that he's married?

Phil

I don't think they'd kill him, not this soon after the wedding as there'd be a massive outcry from the LGBT community.

Thats my thinking as well

Space

Age of Apocalypse #14 came out today and Northstar has some good scenes, mostly lifting really heavy things and throwing them really fast and hard into other things. Kind of fun if you think about it and nicely done. Would read again.

Wow they are giving Northstar huge props in this series, making him a huge heavy hitter.

Flightpath07
04-05-2013, 03:44 AM
What kind of props? A cane and top-hat? Some really long skis? A lemon pie? Trombone? I was imagining him carrying an inboard-outboard motor, but maybe just a really big and heavy baseball bat would make more sense?

Well for starters they said Northstar can RUN at lightspeed now.

I tried to run at Lightspeed once; she moved aside before i got to her.

Yeah, it seems like he's still got his Children Of The Vault enhancements, which is odd...

Yeah as they officially lost it, but guess their giving the twins a speed push like they did for Quicksilver to compete against Flash.

Hasn't Northstar's running speed always been kind of ambiguous? He ran really fast in the Marvel Fanfare he was in.

Not, y'know, lightspeed fast... but fast.

It was fast, but no where close to light speed

Calculation:
speed=distance/time
speed=4500km/30min
speed=150
km/min
speed=2.5 km/sec

Yeah I believe so, he doesnt run to much.

He was certainly in a hurry at the time - but the mist that stopped him flying may have slowed him down a bit.
