Kinda interesting.

'Course, doesn't mean anything if they are second the other 11 months.

Actually, that doesn't really mater either, as long as they are making money hand-over-fist...

...oh, my aching wallet!

But, that is with 4 titles for every series using the .1 .2 format; plus 3D & 2D covers; plus the marked-up price for the 3D covers.
Not knocking them; it's smart business and we'll see similar from Marvel in Jan/Feb.

I thought the 3-D covers were brilliant, absolutely stunning.

I'm actually a little surprised by this, given how much DC have shown they don't have their fingers on the pulse of fandom lately.

OTOH, they used gimmicky covers to sell books...
Hey! The 90s are back! And they want revenge.

In spite of the handcuffs that DC puts on its writers, causing many to flee its ranks for smaller comic companies of late (and, really, Marvel interference of writers' plots is no better), DC has some really innovative and cool series happening right now, for instance The Green Team and The Movement, both fairly new series.

I'm sure Marvel has a few cool and innovative series as well, not saying they don't, they just aren't any that interest me; I'm still only The Fearless Defenders away from not buying ANY Marvel comics. Other than the odd issue here or there that I pick up at my LCS, out of boredom.

Mik, not sure how DC has "shown they don't have their fingers on the pulse of fandom lately", is this just an opinion or is there some article or numbers to back this up? I really don't think they are doing any worse than Marvel in this way, neither really seem to be able to give the fans what they want, and I really think Marvel is doing better sorely on the strength of their movie titles propping them up. I'm a small-company guy, all the way: 6 independent titles on my pull list, Jirni (Aspen Comics), Critter (Big Dog Ink), Captain Midnight (Dark Horse Comics), Quantum And Woody (Valiant), Unity (Valiant), and Thunder Agents (IDW).

It wasn't every title that had 4 issues last month. Some only had 1, 2, or even 3. Heck, even a few didn't have any, like World's Finest or Suicide Squad.

But man, was it a hard month on my wallet. I normally get 10 DC comics a month...last month I got 36 (that was still just getting the titles I normally get)!

It's mostly something I've been hearing from somebody who's better able to keep up with current titles than I.
Stuff like "the handcuffs that DC puts on its writers, causing many to flee its ranks for smaller comic companies", the death and destruction, the unheroic characters, putting new titles out there that nobody cares about, and forgetting that the 90s are over.

Oh, and they just announced they're killing off Superboy. That kind of thing.

This is mostly stuff I've been hearing second-hand, though, so I can't really back it up. I have zero DC titles right now. (But I've always been more of a Marvel guy anyway, so that doesn't mean much.)

Sigh...good try, but i just looked it up. Man! Superboy was one of my favourite characters in DC, first because of the Young Justice animated television series, and then because of how he was portrayed in the new 52 (a bit more in line with Young Justice than expected). VERY DISAPPOINTED.
