Anybody seen this image before? Just stumbled across it on the 'net.

It appears to be Wolverine in a Canadian costume. Not sure if this is an actual comic, it's more likely just an advertisement for The Super Hero Squad Show. But cool nonetheless!

It's the "All Captains" episode he went by the name of Captain Canada!

And it is a genuine variant cover that physically exists.

Yup, so I see. I'm guessing, then, that the variant cover has little-to-nothing to do with the story, as I see that the characterrs on the cover are not listed as actually appearing in the story.

As an aside, I am for realism in cover art. Show me something that actually happens inside the comic, not something else just designed for sensationalism or to get me to buy the issue.

It was a Themed Variant, as part of a line-wide initiative, rather than the Standard cover.

(Realism isn't the issue there; it's true vs false advertising.)

I'd generally agree with the first half - the cover had better be reflected inside. And, preferably, by the same artist.
Sensationalism and getting me to buy the issue? I'm all for that. Show me a cover with Spidey saying 'I can't stop this bomb and save Aunt May!' over some group shot any day.
(One of the worst I've had was a trade of God Loves, Man Kills; not only was it a generic group shot of the X-Men, it was so generic, it wasn't even the characters who appeared in the trade!)

I'm not. At least, not when it means showing something that isn't really happening. For instance, those covers that say somebody is going to die...and then nobody does.

Oh, absolutely I agree there. That's false advertising, and I'm agin' it.

That said, the cover we see here is really, really cute!
(Which is a problem if the comic inside is not.)

The Super Hero Squad Show, episode ten of season 1, entitled This Forest Green, Northstar gets a mention. Falcon mentions him, as one of four or five heroes who have a great 'speed factor' than his own.
