When I thought, "Why is there no Alpha Flight Podcast?"

You could call it Department H.

And before you say, "Well there's no current Alpha Flight series."

One of the things we do with the New Warriors podcast is talk about the current issues first, then discuss the older issues. (So if we talk about the new issues #1, 2, and 3, we talk about the old issues of the same numbers).

So while there is no current Alpha Flight series, you could easily do each of the volumes, and all their guest appearances. Each podcast could cover about 3 issues. That would carry the podcast for a significant amount of time. Then you could do one shots, specials, guest appearances, etc.

I have thought about it before.
I'd be interested in it, potentially.

It's a neat idea. Not for me, as far as putting it together (my creativity runs in different directions than that, and my time is stretched thin enough as it is), but it'd be an interesting watch/listen if it did all come together.

I'd offer to help do it - but I currently do the Comic Relief Podcast (the one my co-worker and I do) and the New Warriors Podcast called The Crashpod. (As an example of time sinking - we talked for 2.5 hours... I spent 10 hours editing that file, down to 30 minutes!) So it's a pretty big time sink when it comes time to edits, if you want to really make it flow. (I know a lot of people just talk and save the file as is, and to me, that's just not a good idea... too much dead air, too many Um's that need to be taken out, and too much rambling).

You've just described every good comedian.

but that would take hard work.

Hard work which we Don't! Have!

Yeah, if I wasn't already responsible for two podcasts... I'd do an AF one. But I simply can not. For example I did Crashpod and Comic Relief Podcast, back to back, and by the time I was done editing, I was _DONE_ ... so I am glad I don't have another one to do for awhile.

I've been thinking about this again a lot lately.
There doesn't seem to be much of an AF future on the horizon and there are days when the site is quiet so I think a podcast covering all the old issues and appearances would be a nice way to kickstart some conversation...

It'd be interesting to hear what everybody sounds like.

For me the trouble is - and the problem is me here, I admit that - podcasts don't hold my attention. Vids, yes, podcasts, no.
So while I'd fully support the idea, I wouldn't be a regular listener. (Though I'd listen to the first couple at least.)

Maybe a video review show, in the style of Linkara? :D

Something along these lines would be cool.

The benefit of Podcast is listening to it in the car, on a train, etc, while in traffic.

And I'd be glad to jump on and talk Alpha Flight on the podcast; could do it through Skype (that's how we do our interviews with other folks).

Yeah, I just don't tend to download them. I watch videos while I'm doing things like cooking and stuff - basically, any time when it's at all possible to 'watch', but I can't be writing. For some reason, despite how much that limits my actual watching, I don't get into voice-only.

It's senseless, I know.

Driving (or cycling) time is music time.

What if the mp3 was put to various images of Alpha Flight?

I've seen that kind of thing, and still images don't tend to help my attention span problem.
What about SF Debris style, though? Which is somewhere between? I have no problem with that one.

Oh! SD Debris! Yeah...

Wait. What is SF Debris?

It's a review show. The guy (Chuck) never shows his face, though; he uses imagery for whatever he's critiquing (mostly, lots and lots o' Star Trek) and other bits and pieces.
I'd link you to some, but his last thing was a behind-the-scenes history of Transformers, which isn't a great jumping-on point, and pretty much everything else was lost in the great de-Binging of aught-fifteen.
