• Sales Figures For January 2014

ICV2 have published the estimated sales figures for the month of January 2014 of physical comic sales via Diamond to the North American Direct Market, which includes the placement of Amazing X-Men (although #3 didn't feature Northstar) & the final issues of Uncanny X-Force which featured Puck.

    Amazing X-Men

    24 44.53 AMAZING X-MEN #3 $3.99 MAR 51,431
#3 drops 9,000 from #2, without any variants which isn't too bad.
The month generally was down on sales and lower than expected which could go part way to explain it.
The title comes in at the 24th best selling (15th Marvel) of the month.

    #2: 60,780
    #1:112,337

    Uncanny X-Force

We're including the 2 Cable & X-Force crossover issues here, just for some extra analysis:

    75 24.42 CABLE AND X-FORCE #19 $3.99 MAR 28,208
    77 23.99 UNCANNY X-FORCE #16 $3.99 MAR 27,701
    81 23.65 UNCANNY X-FORCE #17 $3.99 MAR 27,319
    82 23.63 CABLE AND X-FORCE #18 $3.99 MAR 27,285
Slightly odd that the final issue of C&XF finished lower than the final UXF, but that's by the by.

The series finishes just over the 27,000 mark, having started at over 86,000 - a bit of a slide in the 12 months that the series was published. It'd have been interesting to see what figures would have been like without double shipping...

    #15: 27,567
    #14: 28,885
    #13: 30,567
    #12: 32,559

    #11: 36,186
    #10: 35,329
    #9: 36,978
    #8: 37,781

    #7: 40,380
    #6: 42,496

    #5: 45,674

    #4: 47,727
    #3: 51,721

    #2: 56,713
    #1: 86,817

However though, Alpha Flight Volume 4 started off at 46,851 and ended at 18,408 over a course of 8 months, so it's possibly not as drastic as it immediately looks, and probably fairly represents the comic market at the moment.

Uncanny X-Force may not have been everyone's ideal book but it definitely gave Puck some prominence in the Marvel Universe, if only briefly, and hopefully may lead to more.

Well, to be fair, C & XF was only 34 below UXF...
