Zombie versions of Alpha Flight appeared in Marvel Zombies Resurrection #2
I would say because it looks like everyone in that photo is a "god" like being. Only one I can't place is the female fish person. Who I assume could be a reference to Atlantis.
That’s fair. I actually have seen others call him Tanaraq too. He’s even listed that in the Marvel Database, so was confused if I missed something

Aurora and Northstar appear in Excalibur #16
"I might as well have gone to some human backwater P.D."
Wow! When did Rogue get so… racist? Speciist?
Man, no wonder I don't read X-Men anymore.

That is interesting. SPOILER CHARACTER* almost never gets referenced, especially outside Alpha Flight.
* That's not to say the character who is called Spoiler. She gets referenced a lot, but she'd DC.
Wow that’s super random. Good catch
I'd like to take the credit, but saw it on twitter; we dont get any comics the week between Christmas & New Year's this side of the world unfortunately.

Oh boy Immortal Hulk #43 made me happy :)
Oh yes. Things are moving into place for the end.
And I *loved* X-Factor.
Just read it. Yeah great characterization for the twins. Really enjoyed itLittle retcon though with Northstar
Not part of the actual story, but at the end of Heroes Reborn #1 there is a new drawing of Weapon X and Final Flight. Actually like Aurora’s suit there

I'm sure this has probably been discussed here before, and I don't know which thread to attach it to, but I've got this one open and it's vaguely appropriate, so here goes:
I've been watching The Avengers lately. This is the British TV show, John Steed & Emma Peel, not the American comics, Captain American and The Wasp.
In Mrs Peel's first appearance, there's a character named 'Tom Smallwood'.
Given that the show is a stated influence on Byrne's work (A Touch Of Brimstone is basically the origin of the X-Men's Hellfire Club), I don't think it's a coincidence that he has the same name as Marrina's father.
I don't know if he's ever said what the inspiration for the name is but from a Canadian perspective, it's most likely that gave the name to Marrina because Smallwood is a famous political name in Newfoundland. Premier Joey Smallwood was responsible for bringing Newfoundland into Canada in 1949.
That makes a lot of sense, too!
I wouldn't be surprised if it was one, or the other, or a combination.
Quick question unrelated to Marrina but still a possible appearance. Was skimming thru the latest Iron Man and saw him sneaking around Galactus ship with another armored figure who I think he calls Colin. This person talks about being from Manitou Canada ( I think). Don’t buy Iron Man but the name seemed familiar so I looked it up later. Colin was the real name of Windshear who I vaguely remember being depowered. I think he put together another set of armor. Was wondering if anyone knows if the character is actually Windshear or is it a coincidence?
Sounds like it was deliberate; but I haven't read it and don't really know. Did the armour look like Windshear's?
Who wrote it? They might have a history with AF.

Thanks for the info. Makes it easier to decide wether I have to go back thru the issues and buy them. Hadn’t heard of Avro before(but as I said, don’t normally pick up Iron Man)
Which means he's actually more obscure than the Alpha Flight character! That's impressive. :)
Still on vacation, so limited to my phone (hence being behind on previews) but wanted to flag this up before I can create an article:
