Yeah that's what I think as wellQuote:

Jubilee and Sunfire...WTF?!
...And I thought Volume 3 and killing off Alpha Flight was bad...

Oh, I'm not too worried yet about UAF. We may get explanations and the characters may be written well.
They might be written very well, but I agree with cmdrkoenig67 with UAF looks silly. All though I do like Snowbird's new look
That's what I'm saying (the Gods of the North are mostly in spirit form, anyway)...Maybe when Shaman bound her to Canada and a human form and the only human genes she had were her father's, so she instinctively took a form (as a baby) that used those genes. Not to mention, look at the form her mother took, when she wanted Eastman to mate with her (a blonde, white woman), not that the form she took may have mattered in genetics.Quote:

As far as the way Alpha is written?

Looks pretty bad to me...Already we have a team who has attacked one of the X-Men (Iceman) and yet Vindicator says "We don't have a fight with you" (paraphrased)...Again, Alpha is written as heavy-handed bullies (just as they were in their original X-Men appearances)...Nothing new.
Dana
I still can't get Aurora's tube top out of my head.
Beyond the whole, "how does it stay on?" thing, wouldn't the opening in the front catch the air as she flew? If she were going real fast, it would  and  , wouldn't it?
It seems a poor choice of costume for a fast flyer, especially for a woman shaped like JM.

Sas reminds me of something... Fantasy troll? I don't know.
I've never been a fan of the Ultimate Universe (UU), and this isn't converting me.

"Fidelity: A virtue peculiar to those who are about to be betrayed."
The Hercules series is showing them to have more a humanoid form rather then mostly being spirit, but it's kinda hard and silly to actually debate about genetics with a God having a child. Which mind you I wasn't debating the first place, I was talking more of a story point as being a Native American Goddess would make sense if she looked similar to her kin, but it's not a huge dealQuote:

-Shaman is a mutant and easily defeats Cyclops and Havok
-Aurora can move faster then light and can steal speed away from people
-Well it definetly was a "different" take, guess we have to wait and see where this goes

Yeah, it was definitely a case of "interesting, but not good".
Although I've always wondered about the whole "property of the Canadian government". That just creeps me out. Can't they just say "You're AWOL" and leave it at that?
edit: and it also appears that the Vindicator is not the Vindicator/Guardian/Weapon Alpha Wolverine is familiar with as he doesn't know who Wolverine is, and the Sasquatch is probably another character with a new Banshee inspired set of powers, as he has encountered Rogue before.
So they're all new characters with Banshee inspired powers.

Clancy Brown, who played Sas in the Hulk cartoon (is that ep on Youtube? I've still never seen it) was in Earth 2.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the idea of Alpha Flight being bad guys? Or at least misunderstood, misguided, heroes being led by a corrupt government? I quite enjoyed the idea. I think there is tremendous room for growth, and even a bit of them turning to the side of good.
As for Sasquatch, I doubt that it's Walter, I don't recall anyone calling him by name. Anything can be different in this Ultimate universe. They even remark that Banshee can give normal humans powers. Vindicator might be getting his powers from the drug, the red pylon looking things on his suit might be giving him the powers via constant injection. Snowbird looks like she is Elizabeth Twoyoungmen instead of Narya. Shaman might even be someone else, though I am not sure who else he might be.
I like it, I plan to keep buying this title as long as UAF is part of the plot.
i don't know, i kinda of think she is narya, with just a different look; at first, i had the idea of Elizabeth (well, soemone in a comic with my same name... is this the reason i like her so much?) me too, but reading the conversation between she and ororo, it seems to me she really beleives she is, at least in part, a deity...Quote:

It just seemed odd to have Snowbird be a pilot, since she can fly on her own. Dunno, I've just seen her for a few panels, but she didn't seem like the pilot type to me.
Otherwise I really liked the issue, especially the beautiful art on the pages right before the attack during the ball game. That one panel with Vindicator blasting Wolverine to Maine is totally awesome.

Wolverine is in Maine now? Cool.
:P
Nah, he made it back to Westchester by hitching rides and stuff. It's pretty far [as considered by citizens of the NE US] from Maine to Westchester, about 5 hours driving, not including any time waiting around. Later in the book he makes it back to the school.

Does anyone else wonder if the Ultimate Guardian is Feedback, the mutant from the East Coast who showed up at the end of the first AF series?
