AVENGERS #11
(W) Jason Aaron (A/CA) Ed McGuinness
THE AVENGERS WORLD TOUR COMES TO A SHATTERING CONCLUSION!
To deal with the fallout from last month’s world-shaking issue #700, the Avengers organize an international super hero summit, gathering heroes from the most powerful nations on Earth. But no one was expecting the shocking new representatives of the United States. The world is about to become a far more dangerous place. Especially for the Avengers. Plus Hulk and Thor try to go on a date.

Shaman?
When was the last time we heard from Mac and Heather?
Mac? In Old Man Logan about 5 months ago.
Heather? World War Wendigo, pre-Secret Wars.
You mean in those comics I own and have read? (Sometimes I forget things.)
I'm still thinking Shaman was a fairly random choice, though, and wondering why it wasn't those two - specifically Mac, since he was leader in Old Man Logan; or Puck or Aurora, since they worked with Captain Marvel? (Sas is apparently unpowered right now, but maybe him?)

Yeah, I picked up the issue expecting Mac too.
I think Aaron just likes Shaman though.
I mean, it's fair to write whoever you want to write, but it just doesn't make sense here. Why not put both in?
It’s one per nation:
Black Panther
Sunfire
Captain Britain
Sabra
Arabian Night
Collective Man
Ursa Major
Think aaraon was trying to cover the various demographics and they already had a Caucasian
I didn't want to post anything more about Alpha Flight's appearance in Old Man Logan because the sentiment seemed to be that any exposure was good exposure---even if the story in question does not do a thing to negate the perception of Alpha Flight as ineffective D-listers.
(1) Mac---their leader---left his team vulnerable with the core of the DEADLY plant-thing, takes a piece of said deadly plant-thing back to their ship, and doesn't put on his forcefield AT ANY TIME to protect himself...a forcefield that at one time was strong enough to withstand Wolverine's adamantium claws.
(2) Even if anyone were to give any credence to Shaman's "my earth-magic won't work on alien plant-thing", his magic should work on earthlings, right? He didn't even use his teleportation spell to get the survivors to safety.
(3) The only thing Alpha Flight did half-way effectively is run away...until they were caught by the plant-thing.
I didn't want to post this because of the old saying: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
It does make more sense if it's one per nation.
Garry, critiques of comics are fine. Did you write up a review of the comic? That might be interesting, especially if it's considered controversial. :)
No write-up on the second part of Old Man Logan. The less said (written) about it, the better. It is not any where close to what Immortal Hulk is...a very good comic book.
