I have to agree. I'm not following ANY of the "Ultimate" titles because they are just too bad, not worth my money. They take a good concept and twist it any way they can.Quote:

Well, they trash the X-Men. Against 25-5 odds (Which works out to five to one. One to five. No-one here gets out alive.)Quote:

That's about it.
They're different people, different motivations, etc...
But that's Ultimate for you.
Yeah, whatever. If there's an Ultimate AF series, I won't be buying it.
Btw; 'ultimate' also means 'last'. What can we draw from that?

well i mean id buy the ultimate alpha flight if theyd make it, because its them
Which is odd, because I wouldn't buy it because it isn't them.
(Trewqp, you haven't been around long enough to hear me rant about it, but to me the words 'Flight' and 'Alpha' (or any other Greek letter) in combination do not, on their own, make my favourite superteam.)

so you mean that the new alpha flight dosent act like the old vol.1 alpha flight? well i dont know how the old ones act, because im a new fan of the series, but what makes them so much diffrent?
They aren't the same characters from AF vol. 1. Most of them aren't even Canadian! While other Ultimate characters (the X-men, the Avengers for example) are just different takes on the same characters (Wolverine is still Logan only with a slightly different past) all but one of the Ultimate Alpha Flight are people who have never been in Alpha Flight! Apparently, the original AF isn't good enough to be turned into Ultimates.Quote:

Trewqp,
1) Most of Omega Flight, including their Guardian, weren't Canadian, and they're the 616 version.
2) Did you know you've been moved to Afghanistan? Apparently with all of Tampa? (You're not the first person this has happened to, btw.)

Trewqp,
I hate to sound the wake-up call, but i have yet to see that anybody high up in Marvel gives a hoot what any of us think of what they do to Alpha Flight.
We don't matter to them, we are just an annoyance (but "we", i mean us fans of Alpha Flight).
So, my advice to you is this....enjoy whatever Alpha Flight appearances you can, hope for the best, but expect nothing, or at least nothing good, to come out of Marvel that has to do with Alpha Flight.
Until my (Canadian) bacon walks out of my refrigerator, opens a window, and flies off under its own power..."Make mine anybody-but-Marvel!"
so this whole website, and fight for the flight, and these fourms didnt even make marvel take a notice at us?
well hopefully they do give us something... hopefully
o and has marvel ever responded to one of ur guy's email's for the fight for the flight?
i still havent recived a email from them.
Might wanna ask Ben about that one, or one of the more experienced people here.Quote:

of course, there are some writers and artists (Reber!) who have been really kind to us here, dropping by and spending time chatting with us, the humble fans.
but, the higher-ups, the muckety-mucks, the big chiefs at Marvel? I'd have to say, no, they don't particularly like us. That's MHO, anyways.
wow, i didnt think marvel did that... you'd think that they'd try to keep fans and do things for the fans.
well, that reminds me of a comment when i was reading about the iredeemable ant-man that a guy said to te fans that you have to remeber that this is a business.
well this sucks... :(
Yeah, I always find it odd when they say "it's a business", then completely ignore what their customers ask for. If they want an AF book to sell then they need to do a better job all around with it. Put together a good creative team, promote the book positively, write the characters as heroes (not villains or losers or jokes) and include them in big events beyond just being extras who get taken out to show how powerful the bad guy is.Quote:

I'd have to add to this list "offering subscriptions". The last couple attempts didn't offer you the chance to cast your vote with a subscription order. Only on presales at comic shops. It's been a long time since they actually gave the title a chance. I think Vol.2 tried to do it justice, but it just came together way too slow and everyone but the die hards dropped the book because they weren't getting Vindicator and crew at all. Vol.3 didn't even try to make the book anything more than a bad joke. And Omega took the insult a step farther and stripped the team of most of it's Canadian characters. Sure there were nods to the old school throughout Omega, but the treatment it got going from an ongoing to a mini before it even hit the presses really killed it. I think the only nod Marvel has ever given the Fight for the Flight is calling us a bunch of whiners. I don't know about everyone here, but I felt my e-mail voiced very real reasons why Alpha/Omega did (would) not succeed. I got tired of paying to be called names, so I stopped buying their comics. Still they've found a way to milk a little money out of me, by putting out mini-busts of my favorite Alphans, the original lineup. Weird that they felt those would sell, but the comic book containing them wouldn't. I won't hold my breath for a Vol.4, and won't likely buy it until I've heard from folks that I trust here that it is worth my money. In fact it's strange to have been away for about 8 months only to come back to the exact discussions we were having when I left. Hope burn eternal I guess!Quote:

well maybe there too busy with secret invasion to even think about alpha flight...
well maybe in marvel ultimate alliance 2 they will allow you to play as alpha flight members?
Omega flight members, U.S. agent and beta ray bill were playable marvel: ultimate alliance, but only as alternate costumes.
so why cant any of us make our own alpha flight comics?
and we should get a chat room for this site, it'd be very nice 8)

S'rously, dood, that's kind of a sore point for some of us. There are those who do NOT like that guy calling himself Guardian.

With the talk of Weapon X, maybe Vindicator isn't Gambit. Of course, maybe it is. Who else is not an X-Man but was in Ultimate Weapon X?

It is revealed who is wearing the Vindicator costume, and a few other Ultimate Alphans appear, not the super-sexy Ultimate Snowbird. Plus there's awesome new armor for Vindicator, sort of like a Canadian Iron Man, pretty cool.

Cool, can you PM me who it is please?Quote:
