Oh I like the constant Alpha Flight nods in this book, though hopefully people dont think Walter is a mutant
With him showing up in the same context as people like Sentinels, Ghost Rider, Blade, Deathlok... that shouldn't be too much of a problem. People will still assume that, but they won't be too shocked to learn differn.
I hope.

Ah, gotta love Marvel.
Has somebody let Jeph Loeb write again?
(nb: actually, I've been enjoying his Nova.)

James and Heather Hudson appear on one page with Wolverine in Ultimate Comics Wolverine 4. Scene takes place in the past since Jeph Loeb killed off Wolverine in that Ultimatum story.
Yeah, was that Gary Cody in the panel before the Hudsons appear?
At first I thought that guy was Gary Cody too. But since there's no name next to him, I'm guessing that guy could have been just a passerby who looks a lot like Gary Cody cause maybe artist David Messina is a huge Alpha Flight fan?? I don't quite know.
And note the correction of Renee to Heather on the recap page after we pointed it out to Marvel ;)

Purple Girl/Woman appears in prison in this weeks Cable & X-Force #9!
By Frank Tieri who had her in Neverland back in Weapon X!

Oh that's interesting. Though is she really a criminal? before she joined Alpha Strike she was doing the crimes to rebel against the corrupt government and she was proven right in her actions.
Hmmm...
Did Rogue ever actually meet her/absorb her powers? I don't recall...
I don't remember Rogue ever once meeting Kara Killgrave.
I'd have the issue if they met, I think - but not necessarily remember it.

"Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Don't forget your husbands."
Yeah I picked it up and she was in it a lot longer then I expected, and no I cant recall Purple Girl meeting Rogue either.
I spoke to Frank on twitter and he said he'd been wanting to use her ever since Weapon X.
Only time I could possibly think of was in Marvel Holiday Spectacular Magazine aka Marvel Digital Holiday Special 2008. Rob did a nice review of that issue here. That's where Purple Girl was seen hanging out with the X-Men at Christmas time in San Francisco. I see just about every X-Men in the panels except for Rogue. Maybe Kara and Rogue exchanged Christmas presents off panel?
Poor Kara...Oh well.
Dana
Though, that reminds me, they were probably both in the same Swimsuit special...
Give me a moment...
Yep, they were on Monster Island at the same time in v1, #2, 1993. Roge was on the cover, Persuasion inside, and they were both showing a lot of skin... maybe they accidentally touched then?

If anyone wanted the Age Of Apocalypse Omnibus for the the Billy Tan cover with a new image of Wild Child but wasn't prepared to pay the large price, you might be able to get hold of this French reprint that uses the cover for less: http://www.comicvine.com/marvel-gold...3/4000-412014/
Nice! So glad that image is used again. But I do very much reccommend that Omnibus.
Phil this was also released as an official Marvel poster 24x36 for 8 bucks.
The Omnibus I was referring to is in English. Here is a link to a previous discussion where we discussed it:

And on the masterworks forum, discussed in great detail why you should buy it:

Full disclosure, yes I got a copy just for the dust jacket. So sue me. Actually I'm a sucker for anything AoA so I was likely to get this anyway but the dust jacket sealed the deal!
Because I'm clearly losing the plot; which specific issue was this image taken from?
Was it just in the previews for Vol.2?

Was it one of the last? Why do I think that?
Yes that was a preview image for v2. I believe first published in Marvel Vision #19 (cover date July 1997). Its on page 10 and opened up a 4pg article about the v2 series. If you open up your Alpha Flight v2 issues, you'll also see it inside the gatefold "intro spread" those issues had. I think the image was in all 20 issues and likely popped up in other places as well.
Has anyone got this at all: http://comicbookdb.com/title.php?ID=37057
Interesting! It seems to focus mainly on AF, according to that blurb.
The other day I got a graphic novel: Wolverine: Bloodlust by Alan Davis and Paul Neary. While AF don't appear, they are mentioned, when a barroom brawler type sees Logan fighting creatures in Canada:
"It's a sooperhero! One o' them Alfer Flight!"
(NB: Wolverine probably wasn't a member at the time. It was printed in 1990, and there's no reason to think it took place in the past. And he's wearing his brown costume.)

I seem to remember this being covered somewhere before, but a quick search doesn't bring it up;
Black Knight #1 - Is this Marrina's spirit trapped in the sword or does she actually appear in flashback? Or does she not appear at all?
The Black Knight #1 appearance is a single page cameo of her in Leviathan form, in flashback to events of Avengers #293. There's also an image of Namor stabbing her in the head, an exact re-creation of the same panel on p25 of that issue, except the blood squirting out of Marrina's head was miscolored black in the re-creation.
Love,
rplass
Nice one. I thought as much.
And the black blood might not be a mis-colouring; it's something that happens a lot in comics as a way of getting around the comic-code because supposedly it's less violent than red blood...
Which is weird, because black blood implies more violence than red. It probably means you've hit a vein or something (yes, I have seen blood looking black before. Don't ask).

"Learned men are the cisterns of knowledge, not the fountainheads."
A technical appearance of sorts: You Are Spider-Man Vs. The Incredible Hulk.
It's another choose-your-own-adventure novel and it has a few chapters at the start that include 'Dr Walter Langkowski... one of the world's top experts on radiation..."
There are no illustrations of him however.
The OHOTMU HC adds it as continuity so if so it's after the 'birth' of Spider-Man & Hulk, but before Walt became Sasquatch.
Wow, that's cool. ~ Le Messor "Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous."
I hadn't noticed those!
If you recall in the movie Star Trek 6 The Undiscovered Country the Klingon blood was pinkish/purple. This was because they had to make it that colour to get the scene past the ratings board with a pg-13. On The Next Generation however the blood was red because they didn't have to worry about that. Also blood can appear black if is or has started to coagulate/clot.
It was also a convenient way to distinguish Klingon blood from human. It always bugged me that they made Klingon blood red on the shows from then on.

The previously mentioned Age of Apocalypse Omnibus is now going to have a long-awaited companion! Rumors of this beast are true! Amazon says 992 pages which is immensely huge for a companion book. Wait until April 2014 though.
