I would say because it looks like everyone in that photo is a "god" like being. Only one I can't place is the female fish person. Who I assume could be a reference to Atlantis.
That’s fair. I actually have seen others call him Tanaraq too. He’s even listed that in the Marvel Database, so was confused if I missed something

That is interesting. SPOILER CHARACTER* almost never gets referenced, especially outside Alpha Flight.
* That's not to say the character who is called Spoiler. She gets referenced a lot, but she'd DC.
