My Puck commission from Dave Ross. Very nice man and I was very happy with the piece.

Oh that's a sweet commission - can you give a high quality scan for us to drool over?
Noice.
Wow! :) I have the original of the issue (I did want to find a copy of #121, which I don't have, in Vancouver, but didn't). Mine is by no means in Mint condition, but even if it was, I wouldn't try to sell it for that much.
OTOH, I looked up a CD the other day on Amazon and watched the prices creep up. After two pages, it was worth $30. Then there were four copies for over $1k each, then one for $2k.
I'll probably get one of the ones that was about $5.

My copy of #120 is the UK version (price in pence rather than cents) so I'd like to be able to get the US one oneday but I'd never pay anywhere near that.
My puppy wearing her Alpha Flight tag.
She's wearing an Alpha Flight collar I made her, too, you just cannot see it in the pic.
Srs puppeh is srs. Her lip is caught on her tooth, she really doesn't have an uneven mouth.

I also received my #29-#46 in AF books, but have been so busy with zero time for reading since Friday.
AND! My AF t-shirt arrived, but it's about 5 sizes too big, and dammit, they really should make more comic shirts in lady sizes.
Cute dog. :) I had a dream last night that from a certain light, my dog looked entirely black (he was entirely white).
Sadly, that'll be just the beginning of your troubles as a female comic book reader. :(

Le Messor! First the thing about Mantlo's run, and now this THING about my most-likely future problems as a female comic book reader.
I feel like my future is doomed.
Crackity, NOBODY'll eat Le Messor's vomit, trust me.
It isn't so much that your future is doomed...as an Alpha Flight fan, we all had it so good with Byrne's run, that mediocre now seems terrible. John Byrne spoiled us, and now we are all ruined.

The Doctor: "Nonsense! It always turns out for the worst."
Sorry, I forgot to post this!!

There's a few things I am not thrilled with in how this turned out, but for the most part, it pretty awesome, imo.
I want to work on the original title font and see if I can run that through my software and come up with anything good.
You're the artist; any dissatisfaction is up to you.
Me? I can't see the problem. Looks perfect!
The only critique I'd have is something you're already working on - I'd prefer the original logo. (And that's just personal preference anyway.)

Yeah, a pink Alpha Flight logo dog collar definitely wins "Coolest Thing Ever Award" (for 2014). Congratulations!
You're too kind, Le Messor, thank you!
YAY!!! I win?!?!
What are you gonna make me? Do I get a cool winner badge or something?
And thank you! :D
I would have done the original logo, but the one I did was the one of the cover of the very first issue of AF I ever saw in the 25 cent bin. And it was that logo that caught my eye and made me get more issues out of that box. :D
Big Sigh...Quote:
the very first issue of AF I ever saw in the 25 cent bin
I know. I cannot fathom why anyone would want to get rid of their AF Byrne run collection.
But if it wasn't for that 25 cent box, I would not even have known the series existed. So, I'm grateful for that, AND for the fact that I got so many issues for 25 cents each.
It was issue #19. The Talisman one.
I got most of my run from dollar bins about 15 years ago.
I'm going to tell myself it's because they bought the trades, and didn't want both editions taking up space.
I wish I could find good back issues around here; as it is, I'm lucky if I can get anything older than about 5-10 years. :/
(It wasn't that way when I started collecting. There were two stores which had huge runs of back issues; one closed down, the other went through behind-the-scenes changes.)

I always complain that singles aren't as convenient to read as TPBs, but now that I am forced to read Mantlo's run in singles, it's a cozy feel.
I will admit, I am one of the weird ones that typically prefers the newer printing/colors of TPBs. There are a few exceptions, of course (Sienkiewicz's art for New Mutants is better in singles than in TPBs because the more muted colors look of it being on newprint is better for his art than the bold, new coloring of TPBs, imo).
I'd agree that trades are more convenient.
Better colour separation and printing can exist in them, too, and I do prefer that.
Done right.

My friend from Sydney just went to Supanova, where he met Stan Lee and Alan Davis.
He brought me back this:

Very nice.
I'd love to see Davis draw some AF sometime.
