I love the idea of this.
I shall find it, cheaper!
I wonder what noises it makes!
Well yeah it's cheaper on Amazon

Oh yeah, I realise that. The ebay link had the interior images of the team though.
The brand new price is absurd on amazon, mind.
I didn't even know that existed! A tie-in to their cartoon appearance, going by the title (presumably, that's what the sounds are - bytes from the cartoon).
Well, yeah, if you consider one tenth the price 'cheaper'.
I went to check that, seeing if it were 'Any Book' or something selling it (I keep seeing them on everything I look at on Amazon, for about twice the next lowest price, and wondering how they stay in business, which 'Vault Media' is doing. Hmm... $5, or $500... I'm torn; which should I pick?). Turns out, the cheapest, ridiculously-overpriced new seller has the same name I do. :(

I'm now the proud owner of said Golden book. I've been on it for about 5 years and never saw one in such perfect condition.

I haven't put the batteries in yet but I'll let you know what sounds it makes. I absolutely must touch that Guardian button.
Nice one Rob.
Mine's somewhere over the ocean at as we speak!

What is: "the Marvel convention edition of Alpha Flight Fear Itself Issue one,"? (Also, the notorious New Avengers #16? Agh!)
It was a free sampler given away at Fan Expo 2011 that contained previews of Marvel titles including the full first issue of Vol.4 #1.
And luckily New Avengers Vol.2 #16 so not the death issue... just a bizarre coincidence in numbers.
Haha I haven't gotten around to putting batteries in it. I'll have to make a nice recording too. I'll do it someday.
Aha! So there's no story in there that I don't have?
... and that is a bizarre coincidence.
Then we'll have bootleg recordings of books. Bootbooks... you should start a business selling booted audiobooks.

Wouldn't bootbooks be books sold out of one's car?
Well, in this case, Rob sits in the back of his car and reads books out loud.
It's funny you mentioned AF v1 #6 as an example of a wordless book. In actuality there are more words in the 5 1/2 pages of white panels in that book than in the entirety of most comic books sold today.
Wait till Claremont gets going again, then we'll have more words!
Hmm... I've always thought of Byrne as wordier than Claremont.
Look at that bit about the lake in #16.

Noticed that you have Wolverine (2010) #6 on your list with Puck being in the issue. Recently purchased the issue without looking first and could not find Puck in the issue at all. Thinking maybe I had the wrong issue (since the date in the comic was 2011) I went hunting for another Wolverine #6 published in 2010 (unsuccessfully). Went back to your list and noticed that you had listed #2-5 as well - which seem to refer to when Wolverine and Puck were in Hell. This matches up with the issues you have listed (even though all have 2011 dates. I rechecked #6 for Puck again and still can't find him. Is this the right issue/storyline and if so where in the world is Puck.
2010 refers to the Volume as that's the cover date of #1.
Puck's in 16, rather than 6.
Thanks for the info. Now it makes sense, and I notice that Wolverine #6 is now off your list. By the way, what are the requirements for inclusions in the appearance section? I have a list of other "comics" that have Alpha Flight shown, but many of them are just showing panels from previous comics, for example - some of the Marvel Spotlights, Marvel Previews, Marvel Ages, etc.
Michael, Phil tends to only include continuity appearances. If you have a list of other comics, I'd LOVE to see the list. Go ahead and post it here!
Yeah, the database is just for Original Artwork + Information, so reproduced panels don't count.
I'd like to add in all the Marvel Age calendar caricatures at some point though, as they do count.
I know Rob's showcased a few on his great site (link in his sig just above) so there are definitely a few.
Original Sin #0 came out today with a small cameo from The Master, Puck and Guardian in an insane 2pg spread of awesome. $4.99 price point not very good, Marvel. Usually #0 issues go for $0.99, right?
Also check out the Paolo Rivera variant which is a darn cool image of the Watcher.
I haven't seen DC or Marvel publish 99 cent comic books for a looooong time (unless they are digital first books). Today's Justice League United #0 was $3.99. At least Original Sin #0 was 33 pages long for $4.99. It was basically a double sized issue of Nova. Any current Sam Alexander Nova fans will enjoy this Original Sin "prologue." I did.
Now after I typed this, I remember Marvel republishing the first issue of Strikeforce Morituri for 99 cents back in 2012. And other comic companies have published first issues for a $1.00. Aspen Comics had a 10 for 10 initiative last year where the first issues for books like Fathom and Jirni were only $1.00
Yeah, that cheap cover price got me to buy the first few issues of Jirni.
It's a great gimmick, and it works.
They don't tend to.
Infinity had the free FCBD prologue (which was reprinted in #1 anyway(?) with #1 being $4.99)
Age Of Ultron had the free FCBD #0.1 (which was a reprint of Avengers #12.1 which was $2.99)
Avengers Vs X-Men #0 was $3.99
Fear Itself had Book Of The Skull which was $3.99
Siege had Siege:The Cabal which was $3.99
Yeah... I've just picked up a couple of appearances on my list that were, like, single floating heads in one panel of one page. I wish I knew in advance which is which.

The wiki should help with that and I'll make a dent in it soon.
April-June are the busiest months of my working year so my entries have been pretty erratic but I've got 4 week's holiday in July or August so I'll crack on then.
The few I've done will show what I mean.
The Master, Puck, and Guardian are Flashback? Now I'm confused...
No actual Flashback aka Gardner Monroe in issue. The Master, Guardian, and Puck scene is just one of many flashback, future, and alternate reality scenes.
The only times I remember Guardian and Puck fighting the Master together were AF 130 v1 and AF 8 vol 4 but they were never together in same fight scene with the Master. So maybe this is an alternate reality scene? The closest scene I can recall would be Puck and synth Mac fighting a synth Master in AF 2 v2. Now I'm being nitpicky.
