Signed sketch from VED!

Also got Wolverine Vol. 3 #28, Uncanny X-Men #508B signed by Greg Land
I like the 'Lego' cover, KM! I'm not sure I know who VED or Greg Hyland are, exactly, but those are nice scores nonetheless!
Real name is Eric Vedder and draws mostly the Street Fighter comics....also did my Puck commission a few years ago.

Think I might get headshots of the whole team now.
I love that Lego print!
Greg was really great to chat to last year.
That LEGO print is epic.
Damn wish I knew you all wanted one. Only cost me $5
As in, 'My Baby's In Love With Eric Vedder'? Awesome!
And, like the others, lovin' that Lego cover!
Vedder. You must face Vedder.

When I start stalking Alanis Morriset."
~ "Weird Al" Yankovic, My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder (yeah, I knew I got the song title wrong above)
Not Darth Vedder, but I'm sure he gets that a lot. Odd how Aurora and Northstar look in Lego, Snowbird less so. Flying Lego.
I want the lego print!! with that said, while in Phoenix during the summer, I was able to attend the Phoenix Comic Con and while there I was able to get my hands on the 1st appearance of AF in X-men 120-121. While there, Chris Claremont was attendance and I was able to get him to sign the issues. I also got a sketch drawing of a "Zombie" Puck from the fellas of '68 comic.
Oh man, a CC signature on those...wow!
My #109, 120-121 & 139-140 (and Classic Reprints) are all signed by Claremont... just not Byrne :(
That may be a good thing, as regards the Classic reprints - Byrne uses a rubber stamp to 'sign' reprints.
My UXM #120 is signed by Jim Shooter. I recall meeting him back in the early 80s at a Creation Convention (NYCers know what this is). He signed it not on the cover, but on the inside, on the title page across his credited name. I think that's how it was done back then.
I just recently got into comic books and after getting into a few series like Iron Patriot (which unfortunately ended), Amazing Spider-Man, Rocket Raccoon, etc and etc. I decided to look for some Canadian content and well I found Alpha Flight and in my first splurge of Canadianism I ended up purchasing the entire run of Alpha Flight Volume 4, #0.1 through #8 with an additional variant cover of #8 and Alpha Flight: Chaos War signed by Jim McCann.
Welcome to the boards, CPReevey. You picked a great "jumping on" point. All you need now is volumes 1, 2 and 3!
Welcome, CPR! And nice finds, especially the McCann signed version! That is a GREAT one-shot!
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
I haven't really been able to dive into reading them quite yet but unfortunately the signed Chaos War is sealed in a sleeve with a certificate of authenticity... So my hunt begins for another copy not sealed in a sleeve.
You should be able to find an unsealed copy. Online, if nowhere else (what are your local comic shops like?)

The local ones are small, Saint John (Heroes' Beacon) doesn't have much just a few back issues. The one in Moncton (The Comic Hunter) is where I picked up the signed copy of Chaos War and it was their only one. I was in Halifax this weekend and checked out Strange Adventures and no Chaos War but I did find an Alpha Flight vol #1 issue #1!!! I was so happy when I found that as I was looking through the A titles.
But the search continues!
Thanks for the welcome! Next time I am in Moncton I will have to take a look!
Work has taken me to Victoria and I checked out Comic Strip (3 comic book shops within in a 30 second walk) on Johnson Street and I didn't come up with a Chaos War... but did find a signed copy of Alpha Flight #128, No Future Part 1 of 3, now I need to find parts 2 and 3.
I'm so tired, I read that as 'singed copy', and thought 'I guess a slightly-burned copy would be a little cheaper'.
Whosingedsigned it?
... wait...
3 comic shops within a 30-second walk in Victoria?
Why didn't you tell me that in April?

I picked up an odd item tonight at the LCS. From 1991, it's an unopened packet of cards, "Infinity Gauntlet Keepsake Collection". The text on the packet says what it is. For those of you scratching your heads, Alpha Flight appears on the cover of Infinity Gauntlet #2:

This is not the actual item I got but it's a better image than I could make on my camera. The larger cards are B/W and include trade dress, but the smaller cards are in full color without the trade dress. Very neato and hard to find.
Congrats, Rob!
Weren't they on more covers than that one? So, are they on more than the one card?
(It takes ages for pics to embiggen for me, so I don't want to try. Sorry.)

Just issue #2 for the Infinity Gauntlet series. The package contains both 6 larger b/w cards and a single uncut sheet of stock with six color card images. So they are on more than one card. Two.
I get confused with all the Infinity Gauntlet War thingies out there. Aren't they on a couple of ... War covers?

Yes! And from this page: http://alphaflight.net/gallery/browseimages.php?c=47
you can see Alpha Flight on the covers of Infinity War #1,2,4,5,6 and Infinity Crusade #1,2 and 5 as well as Infinity Gauntlet #2.

I picked up a few great guest appearance pages at a con today.
I shall post some photos at some point soon!
(ie. This is to remind you Phil)
Original art?
You gonna keep us in suspense about which issues they're from?
Well, strangely enough both pages were inked by Mark Farmer but drawn by different pencillers...
That's a cool coincidence (?)... but I don't know the creative teams of all the guest appearances well enough for it to answer my question.
Heh, I was being cryptically vague.
I'll post some photos in about 8hrs.
:D I thought so.
Cool! Coolcool.
So, this weekend I've been at 'London Super Comic Con' which is probably the biggest con this side of the pond, where I picked up the following original pages from Mark Farmer & Ed McGuinness respectively:
Attachment 4684 Dark Reign:The List - X-Men pg 18, pencils by Alan Davis, inks by Mark Farmer - The second death of Marrina
Attachment 4685 Amazing X-Men #8 pg 16, pencils by Ed McGuinness, inks by Mark Farmer - The infamous Puck sleeping with Talisman page!
I also got an Amazing X-Men #1 sketch cover headshot of Northstar from each of them:
Attachment 4686 Farmer
Attachment 4687 McGuinness
Also in attendance at the con was Simone Bianchi who was the artist on Loeb's contraversial Wolverine runs. He operates a system whereby anyone who purchases anything from his table during the day gets a lottery ticket to be entered into a draw for a free sketch at the end of the day. I purchased a Wolverine print for my friend during the day and I was given what turned out to be 1 of 3 winning tickets!
i got Simone to draw Wild Child as he designed the new look:

All in all, a good weekend for me :) (apologies for the low-quality phone photos)
