Oh, that's nice!
EDIT TO ADD: Thanks for sharing.
That's very good...Thank you, Z!

Here is my collection of AF art (though my big Guardian vs. Omega Flight piece was sold a month or two ago). Check out the gallery rooms entitled:
- Anthony Castrillo
- Art by Pat Ditton
- Byrne commissions
- Fred Hembeck
- Ian Sokoliwski
- Mel Rubi

Also, I have a handful of original AF pages by Byrne in the Byrne - Marvel pages gallery
Thanks! Wow, Anthony Castrillo is a dead on Byrne mimic!
Not a commision as such, but still a nice AF pic. By John Calimee

Nice sketch. You guys have a great Jahn Calimee interview on here, which made me like him so much more.Quote:

Anthony rocks!
Another John Byrne commission...

The face seems a bit off (features too big for her head?), but for the most part, I think it's very good.

Not a commission, but a convention sketch by Chris G from Wondercon in San Francisco last weekend. Love this artist, he's the only guy I went to in Artist's Alley. Best known for his Mini Marvels series.

WOW!...John Byrne's latest AF commission...

unreal. in all honesty, no one has captured those characters like jb has.
that for me IS alpha flight.
I absolutely love the new commission. The only thing I'd change is not have Snowbird in mid-transformation as he likes to do. The rest is perfect.
What I like about this is that every character seems to be smiling. A serenity you don't normally associate with Alpha.
Sweet!
A couple more commissions by Fred Hembeck arrived yesterday.
The first is the second "Across the Page" piece he did for me, a follow up to this one: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryP...591&GSub=54754 This time 'round, it's the team from the end of Byrne's run (minus Snowbird. Sorry, birdygirl).

Second, another cover redo (he did AF 1 last year). After seeing his version of Puck, I just had to get this one done:

LOL...Those are great, Ryan! Thanks for sharing them with us.
Dana
yup, those are awesome!
I broke down and had a commission done for Sasquatch. You can view it here:

You can see Andy's other work on the above link, or at his DeviantArt link:

Enjoy!
Love that Sasquatch piece, congrats!
Thanks, Ryan. I'm really happy with it. Based on some of Andy's other work, I'd like to save up and have him draw Northstar & Aurora.
That's a nice Sassy commission, Z...Lucky you.
Dana
Thanks, Dana.
I'm heading to Acadia National Park next weekend!

It's a nice place...Kurt and I went a few years ago and went to the top of Cadillac...Lovely view from up there.

Some really amazing commissions. Do you guys just contact the artist on the web and ask/buy them?
www.hembeck.com for Fred Hembeck
http://www.whatashock.com/doasales/ for John Byrne and others
I commissioned the Sasquatch piece from the artist by e-mailing him. I told Andy what I wanted, he gave me a price, and then I sent him a check.

Guardian and a few others make an appearance in this Byrne mob scene...

That group shot would be number one on my list of commissions to get if a lottery win is in my future.
lottery?
how much does he charge for those?
I can't believe he put in the bit about 'his old stuff was better'! :)
Alice Cooper rocks! (Sorry, was at a concert last Monday).
- Le Messor
'I think that this line's mostly filler.'

Alice Cooper does indeed rock. He rocks hard.Quote:

For those wondering, the "old stuff" joke is in reference to the drawing of the train that Batman is holding. It's the oldest known drawing that John Byrne did, for his grandfather when he was pretty young (about 4, I think). I'm not sure if it still exists or not. I don't think it does, I want to say it was done with chalk on a board.
Yes, it still exists. JB talks about it in his Modern Masters interview and there's a little picture of it too in that book. It's from when he was 2.
Love,
rplass
Thanks! The details were a little hazy :)
Who ever did that Aurora Art, my had goes off to them!
