Wow. Nice to have some Alphans on the cover!
But...what a horrible looking Sasquatch! And, is ti just me, or does that somehow look more like the Volume 2 Mac (Synth Mac)?
I'd never heard of that site; I'll have to add it to my list!
I don't mind the Sasquatch; big and hairy and in action - I've definitely seen worse.
And while it looks like Mac & Heather have survived we all know covers can lie!
It's like, half the team! That's cool...
But I agree with FP that that isn't the best Sas. Not the worst either.
The Spirit Realm part implies that Shaman or Talisman will play a big part; which would explain why Talisman was used in #8.
Why do I get the feeling she'll be a sacrificial lamb... Where's Earthmover when you need him? :(
I love the cover. Bummed not to see Puck and Talisman on the cover.
I hope we get a Guest-Starring blurb/logo on it.
Last time I recall seeing the Alpha Flight logo on a non Alpha Flight book was the cover of Wolverine 142.
Phil; at this point, i doubt we will ever see Earthmover again. IMO, that's a shame. He is one of the loose plot ends that I'd really like to see get wrapped up.
I'd like to see it wrapped up too...
in a body bag...
Yeah, I liked the concept of Earthmover. I'd just rather he died than Talisman or Shaman.
And that's my assuming someone dies which stems from absolutely no evidence.
What saves me from freaking out is: 1. I am just kind of happy that AF is in a book. Together. 2. Not sure how much worse it could be than what I'm reading right now with Mantlo's killing characters off and disappearing them, you know? 3. My guess is Mac will be the one to go. Since, isn't he always? :(
STOP KILLING MY MAC. Bastids.
There doesn't necessarily have to be a death.
Kyle & Yost know their reputation and could well have been playing it up or leading us down a false path.
I agree with both of you; it isn't yet carved in newsprint, and may not happen - but let's not act surprised if it does.

I think someone will be killed and they will run into them in the spirit world to fight the Wendigo. Hope not.
Any chance Phil you can get an interview with Craig Kyle or Chris Yost in the next four months? The last interview we read was with Sam Humphries.
I did reach out to them for one on the day that they were announced to be taking over the title but didn't get a reply unfortunately.
Oh...I feel SO bad for you!Quote:

So, okay, like, nobody has told her about Volume 3 and Omega Flight (Volume 3.5?) yet, then? Are we going to, or just let her happily skip that?
We've mentioned them in her presence.
If you're me, who am I?
If I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together, you must be the walrus.
I'm so excited that this is happening. I have a few questions questions:
Why is Heather not in prison for murdering her family to get her daughter back? Where is her daughter now? Why did Mac take her back? Why is Guardians leaf upside down in this cover?
Pass.
Pass.
Pass.
Poor research; the kind that seems to have affected a lot of artists over the years.
Why is Heather not in prison for murdering her family?
Ask yourself - why is Winter Soldier not in prison for murdering Nomad?
Apparently if you're brain washed, you're not held liable for your actions, and free to go.
Where is her daughter now?
I suspect that might have something to do with the big fight her and Mac had. Or at least, I hope it does.
Why did Mac take her back?
Because she was brain washed, and was not herself.
Why is Guardian's leaf upside down in this cover?
They're in the spirit world. Everything's backwards. Like looking in a mirror.
Or something.
Those are my guesses! (Well except for the last one, I think Phil may be more correct than I am...)
Pass.
I'm hoping most of these questions will be explored later in 'World War Wendigo'. For now, nobody's told us.

I'm guessing that none of it will be touched as it's all just too messy to go back to.
You are probably right, Phil.
Unfortunately, the lack of cleaning up the questions of the past, just adds more and more unwanted baggage to the characters. After the Alpha Flight One-Shot tried so hard to re-set the characters, Volume 4 came along and added more questions to the pile, more stuff that future writers will all but ignore.
That's tough for our beloved Alpha Flight heroes.
Well I think the "fight" is going to come up. Otherwise, it seems like they would have written as "Mac took off to investigate and hasn't come back..." Why mention the fight if it's not to be touched on?
To create drama if one of them were to die/appear to be dead, and as an even easier plot point; why Mac went off alone.
Had there not been a fight Heather would have no doubt investigated with him.
Which means Wolverine would never have realized Mac was missing, which would mean there was no storyline.
Sometimes it's about working backwards when plotting.
