Only problem with that is that that is about 20 times more emotion than Narya has ever expressed in the near-30 years of her existence....Quote:

SECRET INVASION TIE-IN!
"SACRED INVASION" takes a shocking turn! Betrayed by one of their own, their strategy in shambles, Hercules and the God Squad find themselves marooned on a hostile world with countless hordes of alien slave-deities between them and their final goal of the Skrull pantheon! They have no choice but to fight against impossible odds for their very lives, for in this realm, gods can die, and in this issue -- A GOD WILL DIE!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Uh oh
It had better not be Birdie!
Personally, I don't think they'll kill her. If the AF news that we're supposed to get later this year is about a new book, then they wouldn't kill her off IMO. However, if they do, then the news later on will probably be about another non-AF AF title, again IMO.Quote:

MM
why is guardian there? and which guardian is it?
My money is Micheal Pointer
am thinking it a flashback.
beside Narya need more some spotlight along with some others.
Is that a guardian frozen in arctic ice? Hmm.
Wouldn't it be nice to be Weapon Omega being beaten up by Snowbird, or a true Guardian returning to organize AF?
Could be a Skrull Guardian and that is what gets Snowbird into the whole Secret Invasion thing.
Kick his poser, Alaskan A#@, Narya!

On a whim I just picked up Incredible Hercules 112-116. This is a damn fine book. Of the comics I have been reading lately this has been by far the most enjoyable. Apparently this will be staying Hercules's book as well. Marvel announced that the creative team will stay on for at least another year and that this is Hercules's book now with the new Hulk book being Hulk's book. So far its been a great buddy story. The relationship between Hercules and Amadeus Cho has been alot of fun. I was also suprised to see the focus on the mythology of Hercules. Check it out.
fred is a incrdible writer, i am loving his stuff, not only is this great, but you have to check out wolverine: first class, great book. him and and andrea (same one drawing mcp mailman story) are making a great book. plus fred has expressed his love for alpha flight. he really gets the characters. i would welcome him with open arms to a alpha book.
Here's how Marvel describes the issue:
"With Secret Invasion in full swing, Hercules' sister Athena has banded together a sacred group of deities to face the imminent Skrull threat! Unveiling the premiere appearance of the all new God Squad, including fan-favorite Snowbird!"

Nice, and they show two of the Skrull Gods to boot
Is that Hodiak introducing Snowbird? I doubt it's Nelvanna as the person seems to be a man. Also does anyone else think maybe it's Snowbird kicking the crap out of Guardian?
I always wondered what Snowbird's reaction to Michael Pointer would be, if that is Pointer.
"Fan-favorite Snowbird"? I love it! Glad to know there are other people who appreciate our Birdie! :D
Hopefully, this may lead to a new --and lasting-- Alpha book.

As many of you AF fans have already suggested.

With Pointer's story still going down in MCP, I find it hard to believe that Marvel plans to jump ahead like that. (Though that wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility) Besides, I don't think Snowbirds reaction to meeting the man who killed all her friends and former teammates, would be to turn into a seal and swim away. More like White Sasquatch SMASH!
Hence why Pointer went crashing into the ground and started to hold his chin like he been hit. I strongly believe Snowbird was responsible for Guardian crashing or getting knocked for a loop.Quote:

I guess we'll find out soon enough. Hopefully it'll be a lead-in to more news about AF. Hopefully.
I dont think that is Pointer, I think it's Skrull-Guardian.
If it was a Skrull, I don't think Narya would just up and leave it.Quote:

SECRET INVASION TIE-IN!
"SACRED INVASION" reaches its cosmos-shattering climax! Hercules leads the ragged remains of his God Squad into desperate battle with the unimaginably powerful Skrull pantheon -- and if they lose, Earth dies!
SPOILERS:
Snowbird kicks ass not only does she humble Pointer, but she humbles Hercules who she breifly stalemates in a fist fight showing very skilled fighting. She looked awesome in this issue. Even Hercules was impressed with her speed
END SPOILERS
Snowbird goes toe-to-toe with Hercules in a FIST-FIGHT?? And STALEMATED HIM??Quote:

Even Hercules was suprized she was doing it, and this was Snowbird in her BASE form. It was very brief, but still made Snowbird look great. Woot
Wow. Go Narya!Quote:

More Spoilers!!!!
We also get word from Snowbird that Mac was killed with Shaman and the binding of her to Canada gets lifted so she can go on this mission.
I loved her comment, "and James Macdonald Hudson, whose uniform you are not worthy to wash, much less wear"
I hope Fred Van Lente does a Alpha/Omega series
This issue promised a lot and by what you're saying I was right. Snowbird announced as a fan-favourite, taken out of limbo and treated with respect, hints to her background, presented the way it should be, not out of character, respect for AF, caring for her fallen teammates and kicking ass. By what your're saying we AF fans couldn't ask for more.
Now, only if Marvel gave an AF title to this writer...
The whole story was well written, Lente is turning into one of my favorite writers as his whole run has been spot-on.
I just bought Incredible Hercules #117, (a day early!).
Magnificent! :D
Now this is Snowbird as she was MEANT to be! Powerful, intelligent, strong, caring, and skilled in battle. It answered the question of why Snowbird was not in Omega Flight; she gave Michael Pointer what he deserved IMO; it neatly explained her background; and her relatives even treated her with respect! :D The best characterization of Birdie in ages.
A couple of questions, (not criticisms, though):
1) Why did Snowbird address Hodiak as her uncle when he's really her grandfather?
2) Snowbird says her marriage is over. Does she mean the one to Doug Thompson or to Yukon Jack?
Snowbird also has normal eyes here, instead of her black-and-white ones. She still looks absolutely gorgeous, though.
I give the highest praise to the creative team on this one. By all means, Greg Pak and Fred van Lente should write an Alpha book. They've already got my support. I hope Marvel's paying attention to this issue. Well done!
someone needs to post that page where she is tearing into pointer, i think everyone would totally garee with every word she said. its onvious that fred van lente loves these characters, it wasn't some thrown together dialouge.
Birdy, you said it addressed why Narya wasn't in Omega Flight? Do you mean after the mini (in the MCP Weapon Omega story) or for the forming during the mini?
If it states that she didn't join Omega for the mini (and was asked by Pointer in the Guardian uniform)...That throws another wrench into Omega Flight's continuity. We already have the Initiative panel showing Beta Ray Bill, Talisman and U.S.Agent shaking hands with some govt. guys...The event in that panel never happened.
I just wondered...And I have yet to go and get the book (I'm going to, though).
