Thing is, guys and gals, that they do have a creative team in place. But there's no way anyone is going to be allowed to say that; after all, they want momentum heading into the relaunch and thus don't want too long a lag period from now 'til then.
Also, they don't want the creative team pestered a lot before they make a firm announcement. Courtesy is part of it, but it's mostly about that lag time thing. So Fred and/or Rich could be involved but, like anyone else, they can't say, "OK, you got me, I'm the new writer" in any event.
Whoever is writing isn't going to be a big hitter, well known and 'been around the block' a few times. It'll be a writer out of the loop for a while or an up and comer who they want to give a meaty ongoing. Seagle and Oeming were the latter, Lobdell the former.
Jason Aaron, Francis Portella, Ivan Brand, lots of possibilities in my books; and don't forget writers/artists who currently work for other companies and Marvel wants to give them a shot.
