So you're saying that being born that way is the cause for what happened to her and those events should not be something that she should hate/blame her tormentors for? Oh boy. [-X :p

Don't know if anybody has mentioned it already, but Attuma kidnapped Marrina and used her as bait for Namor in the 1st volume; I'd be surprised (and disappointed) if she weren't extremely hostile to this creep.
The Plodex/Plodi "natural" instincts aren't sweet and kind, and I personally like the edginess combined with her still being a notable member of AF.
This whole discussion about Marrina i find to be very interesting. I just started going through my copy of Essential X-Men Volume 5 (purchased for the repriniting of X-Men/Alpha Flight #s 1-2), which starts out with Storm going through a lot of character changes, having just recently turned her back on her sweet goddess persona and become the hard-edged leader of the X-Men with the punk hair cut and the brutal attitude; Kitty in particular doesn't like this. but Storm offers a good explanation, saying she is trying out a new persona and even she isn't sure which one is really her.
So switching up a sweet character and making her hard-edged is not a new thing, and not necessarily out of character, either.

DP: Gary Cody? Mac’s Department H buddy who got his brain fried after freeing Bedlam (in Alpha Flight #52)? You got some ‘splainin’ to do, Lucy!
FVL: Oh yes, we’re well aware of that. Almost seems like…well, like there’s something fishy going on with this Cody guy, huh?
Good! I was thinking it was getting pretty thin explaining all these returns with: "Herc made a tiny mistake in resetting the universe." Trust these guys to have their bases covered.

Hey Fred, love the preview pages. You, Greg, Dale, and everyone else working on AF are doing an amazing job. One quick question for you: no one has yet shown Guardian using the suit's ability to lock himself relative to the Earth's electromagnetic field, and therefore appear to teleport, in any AF comic. Will we finally see that now?
This series looks better and better everytime.

Northstar's boyfriend and Heather and Mac's child held hostage! Amazing cover!
If this doesn't become a regular I'll be really pissed.
Thanks for this Fred!
fvl had a interview here: http://dailypop.wordpress.com/2011/0...n-fear-itself/
one interesting thing, the interviewer asked about cody getting brain zapped in issue #52, which fvl stated he's acting a bit "fishy" someone behind the scenes, pulling the strings? my bet is on the master.
lol. woops!
Thanx, FVL; this sounds a bit better to my ears now.Quote:
political thriller wrapped in an action-packed superhero adventure.
Wow. Aurora slaps Northstar. Guardian gets shot (or zapped). The art for the preview for issue three looks like Aurora in her short-haired (and yellow-suited?) era. Hints being dropped about Gary Cody acting strangely. Canadian government holding hostages...
WOW!
I kinda hope not. Like the Wendigo thing, I just really like the idea of one of the characters having a power that we've seen, but never in his own book. (Though, didn't Heather use it once?)
We've seen both those things in flashback. Though I can't recall Flashback ever seeing either of those things.
Is there any way we can get that Calvin image as an emoticon?
Now that's what I'm talking about! That is a beautiful cover; I love the subtlety of the two different-coloured eyes, and both versions of Aurora with a great paint job...

Good interview. Now we need to see if a national program will interview them, not just a regonal one.
Whew, I just caught up with all this. I stopped reading comics around the end of the Omega flight fiasco.
I read DC was resetting their comic numbering so I caught up on all the Green Lantern comics I missed, went and bought the Flashpoint stuff that interested me and while grabbing a copy of flashpoint I see ALPHA FLIGHT ON THE SHELF?! Come to find out I get right back into comics right before a #1 is to be released. WOW!
Well guys, I'm back, It's been a while, and I didn't post a lot to begin with but lets hope this new "maxi" gives me reason to post for years to come.
P.S. ^ By that I mean that it continues as an ongoing series
P.S.S. .....Because then I'd be posting a lot more
P.S.S.S. ....Because there would continue to be comics.
Welcome back!

I might put this thread to bed soon now we can start individual issue threads.
