Thread: Cache/Cookies.

    Default Cache/Cookies.

It seems like it times out pretty quick on the forum. Sometimes I will be sitting idle for like 15 minutes, and then go to reply to something, and it says, "You don't have permission." I refresh the page and sure enough I've been logged out.

    Hmm.
Mine only logs me out every 6 months.

Weird. It might be something at work. Will test it when I am at home. (Not that I post while I am at work... in case anyone's watching... wait I am doing so now...)

Mine, too - and it didn't start doing that until I was made an admin.

It should prompt you to change your password every 6 months.

I don't think I've ever changed my password on here.

That enforces my first thought - that an enforced password change is only for admin.

And maybe the 6 month cookie cache?

Heh. I could have sworn I had posted something similar about this (because I was testing it at home and it's not logging me out)... and lo and behold...

    So, it's the firewall.

So what's interesting; is that AlphaFlight.net uses the same type of forum as Comic Book Resources (CBR) - and the CBR one does not log me off. (Only bringing this up because the forum literally just logged me off on here; and I checked CBR and I am still logged in there...)

    So weird.

On CBR, if I want to use html, I use triangle brackets. > < On here, if I need to type the html (which I rarely do), I use square brackets. ] [
Given that difference, I figure there must be others.

They're both vBulletin 4.2.2 with a few custom tweaks, however none of which affect cookies or log-in time.
I can't find anything that would cause it...

Hah! Don't even look into it. I was just noting it.

I think work does not like Canadian Cookies.
