I like it. That art is simply amazing and really like the characterization of Walter.

This is the first time we have seen him as a human in years, which is crazy

arts Great. Mostly a setup issue. They did mention the Great Beasts, but Tanaraq is dead. He also now transforms at night

Yeah, I really liked it; respectful of both the Gamma and Great Beasts aspects.
Was the Chaos War oneshot the last time we saw Tanaraq?

I'm not sure the changing at night thing is literal; more a horror metaphor. I could be wrong though.

And yeah, technically Walt did die, but I have a feeling he'll be back.

world war wendigo was the last time we saw tanaraq. We will see Walter again for sure. on that artists Instagram page there was a panel of Sasquatch transforming back into Walter and we haven’t seen it yet.

    In the letter section....

Al Ewing: “But our very next issue is one I’m looking forward to seeing what people think of. Because next ish, we take the gloves off - and we see what it looks like when this new Hulk really smashes. The question is - against what’s lurking in the hospital, will it be enough?

Sasquatch fighting a non holding back Hulk and it might not be enough?

Probably won’t be that good but one can dream

Sasquatch being immortal would explain his survival after The Collective.
Doesn't quite wash with his issue #23 death...

Hmmm.... also snowbird in Sasquatch form getting killed too.

Good article. I got the vibe that was tanaraq in control at the end as well. But we shall see. As the writer said this is new and not old continuity.

Having read #1-3, I think there's something going on with all the Gamma-related characters.

Much like Pak/Van Lente and Parker did in recent(ish) years, Ewing is playing up the Gamma angle with Walt, however he's doing it in a way that respects the Great Beast angle and doesn't contradict it.

I'm not sure revised is the right word, but I can't think of a better one.

I wouldn't class it as a retcon, and it's not contradicting anything Byrne set out.

Eager to see where it goes in #5. A whole month to wait!!!

    More “expanded” walter’s origin
