Morningstar #28

Back in the halls of Department H the captured Renegade sat in an interrogation room ... going on some 30 hours. Clarke and a number of Department agents, Morningstar amongst them, stood in the observation room discussing the obstacle the ex-Epsilon Black's psychological conditioning was proving in the interrogation ... even for the Department's ESPers. Fortunately, it was then that Powersurge entered the room, accompanied by none other than, Psylocke, who was currently on loan from the British government.

Invited by General Clarke to take-over the interrogation, it took less than a minute for the powerful mutant telepath to pick the Renegade's and determine that his group was operating out of a mobile headquarters, a ship, who's last known coordinates placed it about 100 miles off the coast of southwestern Vancouver Island. From there, it was a small matter for Department satillites to pin-point the vessel.

As Morningstar and Powersurge prepared to move out, Clarke stopped the latter, saying that he was grounded until further notice. He then presented Sadler Jr. in the Weapon Alpha battle-suit, and said that it would be the new "Weapon Alpha" that accompanied Morningstar. While Powersurge voiced his disapproval, Sadler insisted that what happened to his father wouldn't cloud his judgement, only sharpen it, and that he was hardly a new-comer to the field. General Clarke added that he was a natural, like Powersurge himself, and was already approaching James MacDonald performance levels after only a day in the suit. And so with some further persuasion from Psylocke, Powersurge relented, wishing them luck and telling "Weapon Alpha". not to do anything he might regret.

Catching a ride on an Epsilon Shuttle, Morningstar and Weapon Alpha soon engaged in their assualt on the vessel, tearing through it's defenses, and apprehending not only some half dozen Renegades, but also a Fabricators liason. Back at Department HQ, Psylocke again led the interrogation and learned that the liason was supposed to meet up with Voltiac and Jackhammer at the Casino de Montreal at 8 pm the following evening.
